I used to see a lot of mid-construction highways that weren't finished where I grew up, so whenever we would drive on a regular (obviously finished) one upwards, it would look to me like we were on one that wasn't complete cause I couldn't see the downward part. I'd always close my eyes cause I figured we were about to fall to our deaths, and instead feel a gradual lowering, and thought my dad was the best loving magical driver in the world for somehow getting us to fall slowly. I hope this makes any sense at all with my poo poo descriptions.
