"Chiefs" was from a fan poll and it is usually attributed to in honoof H. Roe Bartle who was a pretty cool dude. That being said if they decide they want to change the name I don't care even a little bit.

The issue is that any re-registration would get stuck waiting for approval, which it probably would not get, and then any appeals of that denial would probably take place with it still being unregistered.
