Have they ever said what was going to be different if the show actually did end at season 5? Like, would it have just ended with Dean moving on and Sam stuck in the cage?

I've heard (from a convention video, I think?) that Adam either wouldn't have existed or wouldn't have been involved, and both Sam and Dean would have gone down that hole. And then there was going to be something else after that that hasn't been disclosed.
