"How do I get rid of these nasty roaches?!"

Easy, just burn your house down.
:siren::toot: Five Venoms Writeup: :toot::siren:

(it's mostly negative, warning in advance)

Set 1:
W: Ranged targetted spam.
Skill 1: Armor and poison damage passive increase, all classes get this, not anything to say
Skill 2: Poison-douken, longrange passive poison thing, ehh
Skill 3: Leash whip thing, You latch to a dude and jump to him and kick him back
Skill 4: Flourish: Bigass aoe super heal on a half minute cooldown, amazing, you will always have this in your skill bars practically

Set 1 is a hodgepodge of bleh abilities with flourish, the one good ability in it. The beginning is pretty bad for five venoms.

Set 2:
W: Longrange whip, pretty useful because I believe it can hit multiple dudes.
Skill 1: Silver Thread: latch a dude, jump on him, step on his balls, kick him away, annoying spam especially when combined with the leash whip from set 1
Skill 2: Arachnidia: Grab a dude and flip him overtop of you to be behind you, pulls people or enemies into your group, nifty ability that's useful
Skill 3: Spinspinspin: Poison dudes, draw them to you, and spin more, nifty useful ability that does surprising damage and your first big aoe move, set this up on self cultivation and go watch porn or something because you'll do just fine if I remember right
Skill 4: Whipsweep: Big aoe that hits infront of you, can be used 3 times before it goes on cooldown, pushes dudes away
Skill 5: Whipspam: You mash the button and whip a shitload of times, at the end you kick the dude in the air, pretty nifty, never actually use it.
Skill 6: Big pink whipspam cutscene, you dance around for a bit and hit dudes in a big aoe, push them away, and lock them down, Also a good aoe move

Set 2: Combination between whipping dudes and spinning, pretty nifty and ok by me, useful combo is the silver thread arachnidia whipspam sweep spin and repeat, use that a lot against almost everyone and you're pretty cool

Set 3: AOE AOE AOE AOE AOE
Skill 1: Poison AOE, drop wherever you target
Skill 2: Fire AOE, drop below you, can be used in air
Skill 3: Ice AOE, drop below you, can be used in air, also freezes people solid, goooooood ability
Skill 4: Poison AOE, you can't do anything but enemies get stunned, and by stunned I mean they can roll out of it, good for killin' mobs
Skill 5: Explosion: Fire AOE, that's about it
Skill 6: Butterflything: You grow wings and explode, dudes get launched, same as above
Skill 7: Knockout dust: You spit dust in peoples face and cause them to get block breaked and I think silenced, never got to use in pvp and in pve it sucked so
Skill 8: Spiderman, you climb up into the ceiling (Even outside) and drop down somewhere close by onto people or whatever and hurt them
Skill 9: Poison Spit A: You summon a snake, he spits poison in a direction, it's a thing
Skill 10:Poison Spit B: You summon a butterfly, he spits poison in a direction, and 2 directions close to it, it's a thing also
Skill 11: Entangle: You throw your whip in a direction, if it hits a dude he gets stunned and pulled to you, if he's dazed you launch him, I would love this ability if it wasn't so short ranged because people can roll and end up JUST out of range of it, and while rolling you can't hit them

Set 3: HUGE hodgepodge of abilities that are weird and I can't even remember all of them, but it's pretty much exclusively AOE stuff which is nifty

These are all the skills of the set that I can remember right now and the sets they came with, remember it's starting for set 1, 20 for set 2, 40 for set 3.

PVE: the set is nice because you can afk forever and clean up mobs by just dropping fire, then ice aoe, then the poison aoe and let mobs die in your field, the AOE heal is I think the most useful healing in the game, and if you have 3 five venoms you can have a perpetual healing ring that (while it eats through chi pretty well) almost ensures you can never die in any situation

the ice AOE works on almost everything, so you can have a venoms buddy drop ice on lots of things and laugh as you alternate it, then do the poison aoe alternated to almost perpetually lock every mob in the game down. Instances are also nice because bosses are not invulnerable to the ice drop except for ONE lady on a horse I think, which means at higher levels it might be trash.

PVP:
Arena PVP:
Uuuuugh I hate five venoms for PVP because people think it's the topshit when I think it's dogshit. The big issue is pvp in this game is [VERY VERY VERY] reliant on combo, and making sure that people can't interrupt your combo. The issue is that the first set grab&jump, arachnida, and silver line are REALLY GOOD and don't do any damage at all, but they set you up RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR OPPONENT!!!!!

And then he rolls away, and all of your AOE are EXTREMELY short ranged so you can't follow up with any important abilities that can do any damage and you can't use those abilities for half a minute where your opponent can now just wreck you.

It's also funny because as I was pvping I learned that the 1 2 3 punch of jump&grab, arachnida, silver line can actually be interrupted immediately after arachnida by rolling which means the dickstomp never happens, and if you try to chase them to dickstomp them they can just wreck you.

I saw a five venoms in PVP who was apparently the master, and every fight I saw her do she did jump&grab, arachnida, silver line, ice aoe, fire aoe, poison aoe and let them die, the issue is that in replication none of these can be used if your opponent rolls out, which happens all the time. Your grabs can't be blocked, but you can't do anything after the grabs and the grabs do no damage.

Open World PVP:
the ONLY way I actually killed people in pvp was in open world, if they were able to be avengekilled I could triplejump, glide over them, drop the ice, drop the fire, wait for them to try to roll out, entangle them into me and poisonaoe on them and do the 1 2 3 combo, and then when they try to do a move or whatever to wreck you, run away and wait for the ice to cooldown again, drop THAT on them and then they're dead.

Also, none of your pulls actually pull people off horses, and will just leave you there standing wondering why they didn't get knocked off their horse.

I am not playing five venoms in the actual game.

Edit: OH RIGHT, The ONLY luck I had with PVP I do need to say
Hit with the set 1 pullyoutothem
Arachnidia to throw them behind you
Silver thread to kick them in the balls
Predict where they roll and hit them with entangle, and because it's not targetted if they roll behind you then your hosed, ALSO hit them slightly after they stop rolling but before they jump back, becasue the range is tight there and that's the only way to do it
They should now be paralyzed, hit them with a few whops and then ice 'em, then hit them with fire, Then all your abilities are on cooldown, the dude's at half health, and you won't be able to replicate that again because he's just going to zephyrspam on you or run away from you and emei charge in or whatnot

Can you describe what happens in this fight? Watching this the poison AOE seems crazy powerful when the target is stunned.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIKVw7_kxWc

Oh right, I forgot the spider web ability

Third set: Skill whatever: Spider web, You drop a spider web, it locks people down and doesn't do damage, it's the biggest of yoour abilities and people can STILL roll out from the center of it

What happens in that fight with the poison AOE at 1:12 is the dude stands still and gets hit with entangle, I absolutely never got to use entangle on a person and NOT have them basically immediately laugh it off, and it's such a short range that if someone gets that close to you then they're already killing you, and at 1:20 I believe he would be able to roll away.

That COULD be gamed more and more damage done by doing the ice, then fire, whacking him a bit and THEN doing poison to delay the time he can get up if he's not rolling but... Once again, rolling is op.

That's the first part of stuff I'm seeing offhand

FakeEdit: Basically the gimmick is, IF you hit them with the ice aoe, then you're gonna have a fun time. The ice aoe is SUCH a short range that you're never going to get anyone to walk in it willingly, and the only trick you can do is jumping and hoping they jump under you

RealishEdit: OH RIGHT, And if you arachnidia people in the corner, THEN you can drop an ice on them for free since they can't get kicked back any further, so that does mean you can area deny people from standing around walls or you can push them INTO walls and then drop ice on them, since the walk over to them is short as hell.

OH right, I forgot to mention, the POISON AOE (2): it's a big plant that explodes, it takes a while for the plant to APPEAR and after it appears it roots people, so you can add another skill to the list of Ice Fire PoisonA PoisonB that messes with people

Misbiopy posted:

I'm pretty sure that if all it requires is for someone to be acupunctured, then there are going to be a million opportunities to use that combo in group PVP if coordinated. I'm also really not sure that can be rolled out of, since I've seen people do that combo and never seen anyone roll out of it.

Group PVP, five venoms will be HILLARIOUSLY useful because of so many different abilities that lock people in place and shits on them in a game where PVP is all about making sure your opponent can never press a button or you won't ever press a button. I never got to see that so its use is extremely questionable to me and if it requires more people to be good then I don't think it's good

IF however, ANY of the skills you get at 70 or 80 that you learn, the lost arts have ONE MOVE, JUST ONE MOVE that lets you take a person, hit them from a long range and stun them RIGHT WHERE THEY'RE STANDING like the emei charge, Five venoms will be absurdly powerful because of how much they can do with that one stun. Place your bets though

So how is 3v3 pvp anyway, it sounds like a lot of it would end up being smear the tong or whatever, and if you have an extra person then you win.

Archonex posted:

This sounds like Wushu, but not a pile of rear end and fail like how it was once they hit release. :stare:

Is the crafting as insane as Wushu's? I know the OP said it had easier crafting but do you have to suffer through bad market mechanics for 12 hours just to make a pair of pants?

While you're killing enemies you get items like Snokeweed (seriously) which is "used for level 30 potion crafting", what that means is you go to yoru crafter of choice, tell him to slap you so you learn a level of crafting, and tell him to slap you so you learn another, and another and watnot. Your level of crafting can be equal to YourLevel/10 (so level 30 = level 3 crafting) which makes level 30 potions, so you get the dude to slap you again so you learn the individual recipe up to level 5. Level 6 to 9 you have to go to the guild and have THEM teach you.

The hidden thing is crafting is REALLY REALLY expensive. Level 1 crafting to 2, not a big deal, like 20 silver. Level 2 to 3, not a big deal, like 50 silver. level 3 to 4, kinda a big deal, 1 gold. Each recipe also costs around the same amount it took to level it up, so if you want to take potionmaking and cooking (yes you do) it's 4 gold to get to level 5 in each, and 6 gold for your potionmaking and cooking ingredients, and that's a shitload.

This game however ALSO has unbound and bound liang (Silver coin vs silver note, silver note being bound)

If you make a potion and you want it to be an unbound potion, you have to pay for it with silver coin. How do you get silver coin?

We have 0 clue, the only way we found coins was by bamboo dreams, and that was a low low amount of money so nobody has a clue.

The interesting thing too is it may not be worthwhile to craft potions or food anyway, since you can just buy them (at least up to level 4) so MAYBE crafting is worthwhile?

But no, example to answer the question. If you want to make a sword, you go out there to the battlefield, kill like 20 crocodiles, take 20 crocodile teeth and make them into a sword, and glue the teeth together with the silver coins melted down. Because you used silver coins you can also then give the toothsword to someone else. To upgrade the sword from +0 to +1 you take OTHER equipment like pants you found on the crocodile, and melt them into the toothsword to give the toothsword experience, the pants you get MUST ALSO be unbound or it becomes bound to you so it's probably better to just sell it to the dude and tell him to upgrade it.

Oh also, because I forgot to mention.

There is no limit to the amount of crafting skills you can get. The limit is how deep your pockets are. Everyone can be a Swordmaking Ringmaking Breastplatemaking Potionmaking Foodmaking superman assuming you poo poo money. (Though you don't, I barely had money after taking two crafting jobs)

The Quake posted:

Didn't pony up the 10 dollars for the early access since I don't even think Id take much advantage of it. Also I'm going to try to level up by only grinding (I'm mentally retarded).

This is stupid, because when you're actually in the game, in the top right is your quest log.

If you have a quest "Talk to Jimbob Jones" You can click the name and it'll path you to the person. The game has a free world teleporter in every single zone and it'll take the smart route TO the postman, then to the zone you need to be in where jimbob jones is in, then it'll automatically talk to him and wait for you to press a button to complete the quest.

If you need to kill mobs for a quest it will say "Kill Ornery Emu 0/10" and you will autopath to the enemy and automatically attack it.

If you need to grab stuff for a quest, it will say "Collect Dongcopters 0/5" and if dongcopters are something on the map that you can just pick up, it'll automatically path to them and start to pick them up. If Dongcopters drop from an enemy it will actually say "Collect Dongcopters 0/5 from Pissed Off Jellyfish" and you can just click the jellyfish portion to path & kill. If it's something that drops from more than one enemy like Snokeweed it'll bring up a help box that lists the mobs that drop snokeweed and where they are, all clickable so you can just path & kill.

Quests are REALLY easy to do and REALLY mindnumbingly simple. Press the underlined thing, go read SA, wait till you get to the zone, kill some dudes, press the underlined thing to go back to the quest giver, read SA some more, hand in the quest.

You also get a LOT of quests in one area available to you at one time, so you can go to collect snokeweed AND crocodile teeth at the same time, and then after that take a five second trip over to grab tassels off of some dudes hat and then go take another five second trip to get broken swords from a dude, and take one big trip back to where all the quest collectors are.

it's also why it really sucks that at level 39 all the quests dry up and you need to start doing OTHER things (Bamboo dreams event, Self-Cultivation the botting thing) but I guess they have to make sure you do them somehow. After 40 also the quests start having harsher requirements "Hey you need to be level 45 (For this quest you CAN do right now at 40 but shut up and grind)" but I can't say too much about them past 45

Edit: Oh right, and if you click on your map, OR on your questtrackershit, you will auto-horse if it's further than a little bit.

Basically if you get over the 38-40 hump it becomes a bit easier to find what to do, but you DO need to deviate from the storyline quests.

Oh right, I completely forgot about hoboquests, which had some of my favorite ones.

How are Sun and Moon or Tong at group pvp?

Something to remember is if you have a high priority target as sun & moon or tong I think can do it too, You can jump on them. If the opponent has a five venom that you're afraid is going to ice you all, you just permanently lock the five venom down and have your other two dudes fight the other two dudes on their team. OBVIOUSLY it's more complex than this but, if something's good in 1v1 it should bleed over at least a little into the group PVP.

We also found the vermin lair inside EVERY school, either having a moth or a spider on the door signifying what's inside it. The leader can do it once, you can then change leaders and do it again at a different or the same school. You must be a member of that school to lead your party inside that school.

For a note, because the rate surprised me

1 penny is 1 sychee, so 1 dollar is 100 sychee

in the shop there's a thing called training bag or something. Spoilers it has nothing to do with training, it's actually a pack of 4 drive increase pills and 1 mythiral which is sold for 1 gold unbound, and that's it, and it costs 100 sychee

SO 1 dollar is 100 sychee is 1 gold unbound.

NOPE

Like crafting potions for yourself lets you make potions for 10 bronze notes instead of buying them for like 10 silver, and food is the same

making weapons and armor and jewelry is [not] worth it for a lot of reasons that I don't want to mention right now.
