I don't think so. Nibali didn't need to do anything else but stick to Contador's wheel. Once the finish line was in sight, he didn't need to bust himself further. Beating Contador across the line wasn't going to happen at that point (and wouldn't have gained him any time anyway) and giving up 3 seconds to him in the GC doesn't really mean anything.

He knows he's not as strong in the mountains and contador has a stronger team. He wasn't going to give any time unless he had too

Tried to watch cycling legitimately on my phone both via eurosport player (which ive just paid for) and ITV. Neither work so it's just one of several decent illegal streams to chose from.

So apparently race radio is saying contador crashed because his frame snapped? If that loses contador the tour oleg tinkoff is going to buy specialised and burn it to the ground (and good riddance to a lovely company)

He was saying you get really inconsistent braking especially when they heat up. He pointed out that these guys are all pros and something has gone wrong if they keep crash in on relatively simple descents. Where contador crashed was a straight.
