Thank you Grizzlebees... I was hungry.
There are a multitude of news feeds about the recent survey that Obama is the worst president in recent history. I understand that the majority of SA members are liberal, but as one of the few Republican members, I want this to be it's own topic. I know how much you all hate fox news, so here's a copy of the Washington Times.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jul/2/obama-worst-president-wwii-new-poll-shows/?page=all#pagebreak

"Poll after poll has charted President Obama’s dipping approval rating in recent months, but Wednesday brought perhaps the cruelest cut to date: A new Quinnipiac University survey found that voters rate Mr. Obama as the country’s worst president since World War II.

With Mr. Obama deploying troops to Iraq, failing to find compromise with Congress and seeing major defeats in the Supreme Court, voters continue to sour on him. The new poll also revealed that more voters now say GOP nominee Mitt Romney would have been a better choice in 2012.

PHOTOS: Obama's biggest White House 'fails'

Quinnipiac found 45 percent of voters say the country would have been better off if Mr. Romney had been elected, while just 38 percent say Mr. Obama remains a better choice. Even Democrats aren’t so sure — just 74 percent of them told the pollsters Mr. Obama was clearly the better pick in the last election.

Voters also rated the man who swept into office in 2009 with a promise of “hope and change” as worse than even his predecessor, Republican President George W. Bush, who left office with terrible approval ratings.

“Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

A Zogby Analytics Poll released Wednesday also found Mr. Obama slipping — in that survey, to 44 percent approval, while his disapproval jumped 4 percentage points from last month to reach 54 percent.

Nearly half of voters told the Zogby poll that Mr. Obama is “unable to lead the country.”

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Mr. Obama still has the ability to lead America, whatever the polls say.

SEE ALSO: CURL: Obama is the worst president ever

“There’s no doubt the president has the leadership and stature necessary to call upon the American public to rally around the kinds of ideas that are in the best interests of the country,” he said.

But in his sixth year in office, Mr. Obama has turned increasingly to executive action to attack his policy goals, thereby mocking congressional Republicans for failing to work with him. On Tuesday, he ridiculed GOP efforts to rein in his executive powers with the threat of a lawsuit.

“As long as they’re doing nothing, I’m not going to apologize for trying to do something,” Mr. Obama said.

The president said this week that Americans are “extraordinarily cynical about Washington right now,” and the Quinnipiac survey shows that assessment is hurting Mr. Obama. A full 54 percent of voters believe the Obama administration is not competent at doing its primary job of running the government.

On overall job approval, Mr. Obama is upside-down by 13 points, with only 40 percent approving and 53 percent disapproving. That’s a 5 point slide since April.

The public doesn’t trust his handling of the economy (40 percent approval) or foreign policy (37 percent approval).

As much as voters are down on President Obama, the star of former President Ronald Reagan continues to soar. The two-term California Republican was rated as the best of the 12 presidents who have served since Franklin Delano Roosevelt by 35 percent of the voters polled by Quinnipiac, just short of twice the number of second-place Bill Clinton at 18 percent. John Kennedy came in third in the “best category” at 15 percent and Mr. Obama was fourth at 8 percent. No other chief executive got above 5 percent support.

In the “worst” competition, Mr. Obama barely edged out Mr. Bush, with 33 percent rating the incumbent the worst president of the post-World War II era to 28 percent for Mr. Bush. Richard Nixon, who in the wake of the Watergate scandal became the only president in history to resign the office, was a distant third at 13 percent, and Jimmy Carter was fourth at 8 percent.

Just 3 percent of the Quinnipiac respondents rated Reagan as the worst of the 12 chief executives."

I'm a republican. I don't praise Bush, but I do condemn Obama. I feel he has no interest in foreign policy. I feel he welcomes Central Americans. In a recent interview he was asked if his message was for illegal aliens to go home and he replied something to the effect of, "They should not be sending their children unaccompanied." He never said he was against it in the slightest. He's only against unaccompanied minors seeking an almost guaranteed free benefits life here in America with only a promise they would go to court which most are expected to deny.

I literally get ill when I see so many of my fellow SA members supporting this monster. There are so many on the left that the right is afraid to speak out, but I feel I must post this. I don't care what your opinions are about immigration reform, but we need to secure our borders. We've needed to for decades. I used to live in Texas. It's so wrong that almost every sign or advertisement has to be written in both English and Spanish. We have so many illegals that markets have adapted to them! I'm cool with people wanting to be American, but illegals don't. They want to be what they were and get American freebies. I can't support that.

The Washington Times is just as wacky as Fox News, so I don't know why you cited them. Not that it matters since it's a Quinnipiac poll.

I'm pretty sure there's a bias in polling regarding current events vs much older events. If we could speed time up 50 years from now, I'm certain whoever is president then will be seen as worse than Obama is today.

I'm a Socialist and don't condemn Bush. Why? Because he believed in things before rationally thinking them out. Much like everyone else in his administration. I really enjoy how the article states he has no interest in foreign policy but somehow manages to do a better job of it than Bush.

This article, and much of everything else Americans like to debate over, is incredibly stupid at what it asserts. So Americans are unhappy with Obama? Why specifically? Are you prepared to admit that some of the reasons Americans are unhappy with him is because he didn't go far enough on some liberal/socialist agendas? I seriously doubt you would be prepared to admit there are large sums of Americans who think this way.

FOUR days into Obamas presidency there were Republicans declaring him a failure, FOUR DAYS.

Plus, I enjoy that line about how he uses the Executive to actually accomplish something because it's totally his fault Congress isn't working with him.

Obama is a business centrist and that's going to piss off a lot of people who decided their ideology is the be all, end all without considering for one moment they live in a loving republic that demands compromise in order to move in a positive direction.

Yes, how dare Obama realize that there's no point in working with GOP congressional leaders who absolutely will not do anything in good faith during his presidency (see how Pat Toomey straight up admitted his gun control bill failed in the senate because "a number of the other members of my caucus do not want to be seen as helping the president under any circumstances") or how McConnell said that "our number one priority is to make Obama a one-term president".

For my part I don't like Obama, but it's because I feel he's established a solid record of campaigning from the left and governing from the right. I sure would like him to be the socialist that a good chunk of Republicans imagine him to be.

Regarding Obama being a "a monster" this is funny to me because he is a lukewarm centrist that has really done nothing notable and carried on the business friendly policies of his predecessors. You don't cite any examples of actual actions that Obama has taken that you disapprove of and I get the feeling from your post that you don't really know why you don't like him. Hey, dude? Pick up a goddamn history book, because Hispanic culture has permeated Texas for far longer than America has - and considering the upcoming Fourth of July, I don't think displaying your heritage means you don't want to be American.

I am baffled by how you are able to act like you know the thought process that leads a person to move from a developing or third-world country into a developed one. What led you to such a simplistic yet vague generalization of literal millions of people? What does 'freebies' even mean?

There are many other individuals, also Republicans, who have the same beliefs you do about immigrants, and they're one of the vast multitude of reasons why Republicans are in such a lovely situation right now. You're not helping.

You shouldn't be afraid to post a well reasoned opinion that you're willing to back up with supporting evidence.

Hopefully you'll agree with me here, this kind of poll doesn't actually measure reality, it just measures people's perception of reality.

For example, if we did a survey asking people what they thought was the worst song that has been on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1958, the top answer will most definitely be a song from the last 5 years.

48% of Americans answer True to the True/False question "Lasers work by focusing sound waves" they are factually incorrect and that poll tells us no useful information about lasers, although it does tell us a little about scientific literacy.

Anyways, don't you think it might be a sign that something is up when you literally get ill when you read positive statements about the President? Really think about that, you are feeling an intense physical reaction to reading about people who have a different political view.

Maybe it's related to the poll. Politics is so polarized that people think that the other side is full of monsters who are trying to destroy the country. Don't you think that's a weird belief? I think that Republicans are wrong and have dumb opinions but I don't think their goal is to destroy America. I'm sure that they really do think their policies are smart.

Is he really proposing that the reason we have income inequality is because of poor Mexicans?

The fact that the top tax percentile went from 90% to 30% in a couple decades has nothing at all to do with how we have extremely rich people yet can't afford basic social safety nets? Please explain how immigration is the reason all of our problems exist and be sure to mention why this is actually a new problem that actually effects our economy and not just something we as a species have complained about since we decided to write down what pisses us off?

Because you go back in time to loving Rome there will be Latins complaining about Goths taking their jobs and that the rich are so rich they have slaves do everything because it's cheaper. They were just following the Roman Free Market! It is obviously the slaves fault because they didn't take advantage of the opportunity for working for a rich guy and pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
