It's 2018 and I'm listening to Powerbar Ernie, so weird.
Just dropped a new album yesterday

https://powerbarernie.bandcamp.com/album/t-i-t-s
but the "I Am Not Groceries" EP from earlier this year is somewhat better.

Interesting use of samples for the beats; nice flips. But yeah.

Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's Jimmy T.
Been listening to the Joe Budden podcast a bunch lately. I know he gets some hate here but honestly there isn't a hip-hop podcast that even comes close. He has a great radio voice and provides a lot of really interesting insight as someone who has been through the industry and his co-hosts are good complements. I also feel like he is very self-aware which makes it easy to overlook some of the annoying parts.

Daytona vinyl just arrived yesterday and it sounds really good. It is definitely AOTY for me so far.

I'm not a fan of it, or most music podcasts but yeah he's a good host

It's great, partially because hes one of the truly honest people even when he is intentionally trolling but also because he has no reason to be fake and industry about what is happening in music today....his career was not a great one, and he is the perfect messenger of how things could be better for creatives. It rubs people the wrong way but he's passionate about the medium and it's good that people can get more aware about what is happening, especially the more exploitive side. Sports and politics kind of bleed in because everything is intertwined but an honest opinion is very welcome these days. We can all relate too, he's a very flawed human being that has always been public in showing his weaknesses and flaws and he's being very loud about that being OK. His podcasts about mental health, and about how XXX died are exceptionally good because far too often in our community these things are not talked about, and if they are it's only once tragedy has struck.

Plus, he's living my dream of just being able to sit on the couch and BS with my boys about all different stuff and it be your career. That's super dope.

On another note, I recently got a Google Music subscription to try to branch out to some other albums I usually wouldn't listen to with my old-head rear end and I'm very impressed on how much stuff I like. Like, today was Denzel Curry, G-Eazy and Anime and there isn't a lot I hate thusfar.

They are 1 & 2 for me as well but I think I have Daytona ahead a little bit, but I definitely get what you mean by longevity. For me, Daytona just hit the exact sound I was dying to hear from a Pusha T album produced by Kanye.

I love 60's/70's Jazz album covers. That one is cool but I don't know how you couldn't pick one of the famous Blue Note covers from that time, so many are great.
