To the dj mustard chat earlier, the dude is really good at making strategic songs. Twerk EDM music is all around 100 bpm, and most of dj mustard produced songs fall in the high 90s bpm range and mix into each other really well. His songs also seem to dot the entire key range, so you could easily just mix mustard to mustard for a whole set if you wanted to. Dude actually sucks at djing from what I've seen though. Reminder that Yung gleesh is the best https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIYA9PVyNBQ new: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNj0Euhptqk&t=59s

The trick with danny brown is to ease into his voice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTKI2SjX44w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9b7uxX5LZo I hated his voice, then I downloaded XXX and only listened to the songs where he uses a normal voice. Then slowly I started to love his crackhead voice. Try it. That killer mike video is great, he really went well. Good thing they didn't get Cam'ron on. I would've liked it more if you could see killer mikes whole body as well as the female anchor though

It's categorized as trap but it's not EDM style at all, both these dudes have been DJing hip hop shows and loving around on MPC's for years so they go deep with their stuff. You will probably like it if you like raps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a93HTfNF_s

2014 was an amazing year in terms of great singles, and progression of rap in new more interesting directions. I would easily choose a crazy new style of beat gaining popularity or some new artists like Rae Sremmurd coming out of the woodwork than a year of blockbuster Kanye and Kendrick releases where nothing new gets a look in.

temple posted:I remember some producers I follow talking about them years ago and specifically mentioning how Dre's music is so well mixed, you can enjoy it on any system. Most good producers mix for low end and high end setups. That is the goal of almost every mastering. It is also unlikely that he did the mastering and mixdown himself and even if he did, it is still standard practice.
