i think bc hip hop / rap culture is primarily based upon the culture of african americans the politics of it can often take a racial bent punk has a similar political dynamic i think but the origins of punk is in british class struggle so white people not caring about politics in punk isnt automatically taken as 'gently caress all white / british people'
