Cool, I know one of the assistant directors on that. Used to be hella good friends in middle school/high school. Nice track. Also, cool to see someone else who knows about team backpack, there are some good dudes involved with it...but drat, I always thought "team backpack" was a dumb rear end name.

Which is one reason why it's dumb. The other reason is that "backpack" is a stupid word anyways.

Anyone remember DaVinci? It's been over a year since anything new from him has been posted to his label's youtube channel. As a reminder that he's still alive (i think):

What do you say instead? Bookbag? Satchel?

:thejoke: What I mean is that even if it wasn't a reference to backpackers/backpacker rap (which is dumb), it would still be a stupid sounding name. A better name would be team killer death squad or some poo poo. I do not call backpacks satchels. I call them backpacks.

A lot of people take rap way too seriously. But it's not always like that. Which reminds me of something else from 10 years ago...

Ahh the good 'ol days of hyphy, when you either loved that poo poo and had tons of fun, or hated it and went into convulsions while bleeding from the ears if you heard it (which funnily enough, would be a legit way to dance to hyphy music).

I miss how unapologetically black rap used to be. If they tried this today it would feature G-Eazy and Lil Debbie. For those that don't know their is a very interesting story behind this album. A producer went to a gang neighborhood and got the bloods&crips to declare a truce and make an album together. One side was crips, the other was bloods. The crip side was poo poo, but the blood side is legit one of the best west coast rap albums of all time. I wish we had a west coast artist as big as Kendrick, but not such a pussy who could make music like this.

1990s west coast gangster rap is where it's at, all these new kids and their newfangled music can get the hell off my lawn :corsair:

RBL posse was the only good thing to come out of hunter's point. Watch "straight outta hunter's point" to get your fill of garbage early 90's SF rap.

Not true, and none of those dudes I posted are from Hunters Point. And straight outta hunters point is from the early 2000s, not the early 90s. :colbert:

RBL is cool though, too bad they kept getting murdered.
