My list of good old games I have played recently that still hold up LoZ: LttP (it will probably never not be good) DKC2 (the graphics are dated and limited viewing scope for a platformer seems odd, but solid challenge and lots of secrets) Lufia II (the puzzles are nice and the grinding isn't any worse than you'll find in current jrpgs anyway, plus it has a dungeon crawl side game built into it, which is neat)

descent was a good game 4 real, the graphics engine was way past doom andwhatever else was out around the same time i taught myself how to mouselook with that game

All metroid games except other m don't play the first metroid though, just play zero mission instead. and don't play metroid ii either, just play am2r instead. and don't play other m at all.

Played these all when I was like 17 and 18, and since I'm nearly 21 now, I don't think I'm blinded by nostalgia for this stuff. Ages of Empires II Half Life 1 Deus Ex Arcanum Fallout 1 and 2

Homeworld is tits. No 3d space rts has captured my obsession quite like that since. HW2 made some lovely changes but I still enjoyed it. Suggestions for anything that comes close to capturing that homeworld magic is welcome The Specialists 1.5-2.1

hello op i am a dude who has never played any zelda games before and will begin them later today so i will be able to tell if they are good or it is nostalgia and then add to this thread accordingly! in regards to other games, i began quake over the weekend using darkplaces mod and holy moly its still tight as gently caress and owns bones
