Texas oil tycoon: shrewd, loud, assertive, and yes still rooted in a rural sounding accent because that is a part of it. Which is exactly why they went with a Dallas accent for Osaka in Azumanga. But come on now, regional accents don't map one to one. Like, at all.

While I think (and secretly hope) that speculation could come true, if there's one thing I've learned it's that the author is really good at surprises both come out of left field and feel obvious in hindsight. So anything goes at this point.

Because Bunny Drop was an absolutely fantastic series up til the end when it poo poo the bed in the most laughably horrible way possible. It didn't start out as the "daughter decides to marry her adoptive father instead of going to college and he's ok with it for some reason" manga.
