 I know YouTube LPs are frowned upon, but
HideOfBeast is absurdly good at Mega Man X games. He has done minimalist runs of most of them, collecting as few power ups as possible and taking no damage. In particular I love his runs of Mega Man X1-3. No power ups, no dash, no damage. It's especially impressive for X2-3 because Dashing became an ingrained mechanic and levels were designed with it in mind. I personally love his bitter, sarcastic style of commentary, and he throughly explains every obstacle and strategy required of a challenge run like this so you understand exactly what's going on. But if you don't care for it, or prefer just gameplay he has a separate playlist of game audio only.
