Psychedelic Eyeball made it a ways into doing a Binding of Isaac LP before running out of steam; you can find the videos on his YouTube. There's just too much poo poo in that game to unlock (sometimes literally!) and each individual run unlocks relatively little new stuff, though, so it's not surprising he didn't finish it.

Jon Do posted:Has anyone got any techincally/mechanically challenging game type LP reccomendations? I love XCOM, stuff like that. I'm a big fan of informative LPs, given the right personality for the dry subject matter. Gods Will Be Watching, kind of? The scenarios are a lot of "keep all these plates spinning" things, and the LPer demonstrates effective tactics for each scenario to minimize the RNG screw. DoctorKill's OoT and Majora's Mask LPs are also great technical breakdowns of famous games, and show some really weird ways to go about "playing" them. Like doing all the adult dungeons as a child and all the child dungeons as an adult, for example.

Happiness Commando posted:I can't remember the name of the game that was LPed a while ago - it featured an overworld map that was populated by special items that you planted, and inside each area was sidescroll-y action. There was a crazy complex build order for the overworld map as certain things had to be planted in certain places to be able to access 100% of the content. I vaguely remember it looking like the SNES 16 bit era. Help? The overworld sounds exactly like Legend of Mana, but not the sidescrolliness or rankings. Any chance you're getting two games combined in your mind? What was the action content like?

Petr posted:Is there a LP of Rogue Legacy where the player is actually competent, either here or somewhere else? I find that game really relaxing to watch, but most of the let's players I've seen are terrible to the point of it being irritating. Our very own Smite did an LP of Rogue Legacy, and considering that he was (is?) speedrunning it, he's competent. Link.

Still, from what I've watched so far, PJ is usually good watching; he did a 100% of Bionic Commando (NES) this year. I also enjoyed The Goonies II (2P race), Skyblazer (but I'm a sucker for that game), Freedom Planet (gets pretty well snapped by the player), Gargoyle's Quest 2, much of the Elder Scrolls block (plus Two Worlds), the SMW race, and of course Pepsiman. Disclaimer: personal tastes may apply.

Thuryl's LPs in general, and Chokes McGee's Wizardry/Final Fantasy Legend LPs are both good screenshot LPs. They do the whole "give personalities to generic PCs and have witty dialog" thing. There's also the Icewind Dale 2 LP, which is similar. Those're all on lparchive.org.

I remember it, but I can't find it either. It was something like a "chill" necromancer or something like that. But it looks like it didn't get archived. And there's a million lovely D2 LPs on YouTube.

SleepCycles on YouTube has like 500+ Nuclear Throne videos, if you want to see the same 16 levels played over and over again. The XCOM: Long War LP has 121 missions so far, and several of the missions are multi-part videos.

More seriously, IronChitlin's Grimrock LP should fit the bill; you don't really need to watch it to understand what's going on, and the banter's good.

If you like the concept of Metal Wolf Chaos (and if you don't then what are you doing here?) but find the LPs a bit too slow-going as I did, fortunately it was run for Summer Games Done Quick 2014, by Murphagator. The speedrun should give you plenty of the game experience but in a nice digestible two hours.
