I'm a fan of the fruity daiquiris in the summer.
Peppermint hot chocolate with a splash of Godiva chocolate liquer in colder seasons.

KOTEX GOD OF BLOOD posted:

As far as scotch goes, I had a dram of 21 year old Laphroaig the other weekend and it was phenomenal.
What's up, Laphroaig buddy? I've never had the 21 year old, but the most heavenly thing I've ever tasted has to be the 30 year. Liquid, peat-infused gold. I used to buy myself a dram every birthday for years at a bar my friend owns (he sort of kept the bottle around for me, since I was the only one who would ever pay the even discounted price of $20 for a dram). Now that it has been discontinued, though, the price per dram, with my discount, is $80 :(. I just can't justify that.

The best beverage I've ever made myself was a melomel brewed with honey from down the street and muscadines from my wife's grandmother's vines fermented with champagne yeast. Hands down the best thing I've ever brewed.

Harry, Harry, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.
I grew up at a boarding school where on the weekends we would be placed in little shacks in the woods to recreate The Lord Of The Flies type situations. One weekend my hut mates and I were trudging through the snow to get to our hut and start a fire as we had no power or electricity.

Upon arriving at our hut we found a few cans of tonic water with no explanation as to why they were there. The weather was well under -20 C but for some reason they were not frozen solid. We were young and therefore decided they must be haunted tonic waters. I drank one and it was so cold that it had taken on that syrupy consistency. Tonic water was something we didn't drink at that time but it always stuck with me as tasting so good.

I'm in New Orleans now, my drink tastes have changed but I'd love to taste that haunted tonic water again.
