ME2 not only made the combat system just this side of fun, it's also (surprisingly) one of the funniest games out there.

In general the writing was really clever and tongue in cheek and not nearly so serious in tone as either ME1 or 3. Specifically though: Blasto, Joker/EDI banter, Mordin singing, Elcor Hamlet, "I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite store on the Citadel", and so on.

I'm sure there are a lot more examples but I haven't played it since release.
