i found out that if you give the 2.4 and 5 ghz channels different names, you can pick and choose between them. unfortunately, two rooms away doesn't seem to be close enough for consistent 5 ghz connections

might need to buy that super-broadcasting router that was mentioned

you can mount isos on windows 2012 with the powershell command "mount-diskimage". one of the arguments you can pass in is "-nodriveletter". if you mount an iso with no drive letter, how do you access the files on it?

it's difficult to do this on linux, too. try backslashing the colons (i think quoting the repo url won't work)

edit: wait, the filenames have colons in them? i was thinking about just the name of the repo. i suspect you are in for suffering

i am not well-versed in matters of security, so i come here seeking wisdom. here's the scenario: you have a server running tomcat. it's got apache configured to do reverse-proxying and https-serving magic. is the traffic between apache and tomcat essentially available to anybody who can log onto the server?

one person is saying tomcat should be set up to do https, and then apache (also doing https) should reverse-proxy for tomcat, but that seems weird to me and kind of overkillish

thanks for any help you can give :tipshat:

i have an incredibly stupid linux hosts-file question that i'm sure i know the answer to, but i guess those brain cells are dead now. do you need to have "127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain" in addition to the machine's actual name, or do you just need the name, and "localhost" is a magical default?
