It seriously is important news for football viewers over here. No one gets the channel it was going to originally going to be on. I was serious about this deal courting/spawning Bayern plastics. The NBC deal has been a massive success and Fox is trying to compete and will dump a lot of resources into it.

Earliest games out of the big 4 with some of the least compelling football. Not worth waking up for. I prefer the Southern European model with plenty of late games.

Yay! Dortmund have won in Klagenfurt! A successful start to Tuchel's tenure.
I genuinely don't know what to expect out of BVB this season, because I still don't really know what the heck happened last season.

I couldn't watch but everyone on Twitter made it sound like the defense is as big of a joke as before

The only positive thing about tonights performance is that expectations are now very low. (And noone was injured, although Wolfsberg tried really hard). The only difference to last season was that there were some new players on the pitch, but other than that, the exact same flaws and mistakes led to a game I've seen several times last year and they were lucky to not concede at least one goal.
Maybe they are not quite at 100% in terms of fitness and concentration, maybe the lovely pitch played a role, maybe the referee should have given some yellow cards to the Austrians or give that penalty to Mkhytarian...

Result is fine, of course. They'll beat them at home, no doubt. But against actual opponents, like on that first Bundesliga matchday, it won't be enough.

I think the second half of last season was a pretty good indication of the current strength of BVB. I read somewhere that advanced stats of the matches in the first half actually showed the results "should" have gone far more often their way, but they were basically super unlucky.

Apparently I'm an autist and can't tell if this is a joke or not, but if it isn't, you'd be amazed how many times people thought Dortmund were only "super unlucky" during a 34 match season. It's almost like it isn't bad luck

Yeah, these people were dumb, the team was obviously simply not good enough to win their games in the Hinrunde. On the other hand, you have people who say dumb poo poo like "Klopp got found out", when Dortmund were actually the 5th best team of the Rückrunde.

But what was the big difference between BVB Hinrunde/Rückrunde? Remember that they played quite well in the Champions League in the same time they were bombing in the Bundesliga.

They played like garbage in the domestic games in the first half of the season, is the difference.

The question is why they played like garbage in the first half of the season, and then played much better in the second half.

Maybe. I just wanted to check, but Katana Gomai has already set up a new round. All I know is that I barely got to watch a game or even highlights for the first thre weeks last season and my tipps were terrible until that changed.
