The league itself is a nonprofit governing organization, and the money/tax liability goes through each individual franchise. There are plenty of ways pro sports gets free money and dodges taxes but this isn't one of them. The NBA, MLB, and MLS are listed as for profit groups. I know that the local teams front the taxes on most of the revenue, but a shitload of money still moves through the administration office (ie Goodell's salary).
