I love matt brown more than anyone, but I did not expect it to be that close. Apparently being the world's toughest mother fucker can put you on par with the best in the world. Good poo poo.

Lawler is so frustrating fighter.. I mean everytime he threw a bodykick it hurt Brown but he didnt follow up, and in later rounds when Brown was gassed as gently caress he stopped threwing them at all. He also gave away the second round simply by choosing to not throw any shots.. I mean they showed the head shots landed stats and was something like Brown 20 Lawler 4.. Before the fight he was talking about that he was not going to be dragged into a brawl with Brown and that he was going to "Dominate and Dictate" the pace and still he fought exactly the fight Brown wanted *sigh* Only good thing out of this is that apparently Dana said that if this fight goes 5 rounds he will walk into Vegas. So no he will start walking

I fell asleep during the Tim Means vs Hernani fight and woke up during the replay of Rumble's KO vs Nog and got to see Brown vs Lawler. It sounds like there was some pretty entertaining fights but is it worth going back watching or did I see the best parts?

And then he kicked the poo poo out of him and won the fight.

If you look closely on the slow-mo replay you can see Nog's soul leaving his body after the second uppercut.

I think Johnson landed a solid shot but I don't think Nog was that hurt yet when he was backing into the fence, he was just covering up. But then Anthony Johnson never let up and broke through Nog's guard with some beautiful shots. It owned and was brutal.

What was everyone's thoughts on this fight anyway? I couldn't really make sense of who won or lost while watching it live. Also thought the Matt Brown/Robbie Lawler fight was much closer than it apparently actually was.

I liked that fight. I thought Thomson deserved it too but I dont think its unreasonable to score it for green. Its cool that Green is good. His striking is kinda cool.

I don't understand all the flak the fight has received. Everybody is calling it a sparring session but both guys were throwing with intent, just they had styles that cancelled each other out for most of the match. They moved and feinted in almost the exact same way, so it was going to be close and neither guy was going to get hit with big shots. I also agree that Bobby Green is better than I thought he was, and I've been high on his potential since his debut versus Volkmann. I should have known in the Healy fight that he had good takedown defense but the way he quickly sprung up after being taken down by Thomson was great and then the others he shrugged off.

I've been drinking heavily and me and some buddies found a San Diego bar not overrun by nerds and had a blast watching this card. There was no sound so I have no idea what the perception of the main event was, but I felt like rounds 1 and 3 were razor close and even though Brown only had a good round 2 (did Lawler break his fist on Brown's skull?), I was worried that Brown did just enough to win a weird scorecard. Glad that the judges got it right, REALLY glad that Brown still owns and I hope he fights Condit finally. Rumble is scary, I want to see him fight any of the contenders at 205. Clay Guida sucks so bad at fighting and I was laughing at his bad jab attempts. Bermudez is cool and it's a shame that he hosed up in the Brandão fight, because he looks way better than Diego does. I'd say let him fight Conor, but Conor is going to be protected against wrestlers probably. Thomson is retarded, within a minute I knew he was going to lose to Bobby and he somehow looked more immobile than usual. I like Bobby Green but I don't think his pressure and parrying is that on point, so is Josh just really physically shot at this point? Also Bobby's attempts at wrestling were hilarious. I didn't manage to catch any of the Fox prelims, but apparently Kingsbu died and Masvidal did a cool thing?

I'm quite confident that Robbie didn't forget to fight and was instead stymied at times by a really good, dangerous fighter.

dont get me wrong its not like i did not enjoy the action or felt it was exciting.. Somehow i just got the feeling that Lawler made it harder and tougher to himself that it probably was.. Not to take anything away from Brown who obviously came to fight and eventhough was gassed in later rounds and broke his hand still tried to throw nothing but power shots.. On the point of Lawler holding his hand at the start of the second and that giving some people the idea that he might have broken it, he used that same stance against Hendricks where he would be keep his hand by his chest, constantly touch his left hand with his righ hand and dodge/absorb the punches with his head. Not really sure why but thats the way Lawler rolls

Awesome card. I didn't want either Brown or Lawler to lose but that ended about as well as I could hope. The fact that Brown was coming forward at lot less in the earlier rounds and Lawler was counter punching a lot shows how much respect they had for one another's skill set. Was really impressed with Brown on the ground, never really seen too much of his wrestling but he got out of some dangerous positions in there. Not sure how he could have gone about winning that fight though bar a lucky punch; Lawler is just that much quicker and is equally tough. Great fight though and the deserved FOTN. Also Bermudez improves so much every time I see him fight. Guida is a clown but he's still a pretty difficult guy to finish and Bermudez could have done it multiple times in that fight. Would like to see him face a top five guy next for sure.
