I'm fairly sure you're being sarcastic here, but I have to say I feel about Guernica similarly to how people feel about Pollock paintings in this thread so far. It's interesting when you see it on a computer, but when you see it in person, it's loving amazing. The Reina Sofia museum, where it's on display, is full of some really awesome poo poo, but it obviously stands out above the rest. Now, can someone explain the appeal of Van Gogh to me? I went to the museum in Amsterdam, and it was the complete opposite of going to the wicked museums in Madrid: none of the paintings seemed that impressive. Was I missing something? Should I have hit the coffeeshops beforehand or something?
