I binged this over 2 days, holy gently caress Christ I almost died twice, both because of Reigen. All that build-up and then bam, he just stole the show. I was a little disappointed in his showdown against the boss though.

Yeah, I know that when I read it, I started laughing, not go all "oh poo poo" Also nobody in the anime thread caught onto the detail that the boss was coming next month, not today. I am absolutely digging how into it they are though.

I know, but Reigen is still strong in that chapter. The way he calls out the spirit and is much calmer than everybody else is inspiring and why I can't peg him as a conman. It helps that I got immense respect for the man from earlier, but I expected it to take a dive, not escalate. It made the later scene so empathic.

I feel like, as weird as it might sound, is because ONE actually understands friendships and is drawing upon actual experiences, while most manga artists never had time to develop bonds, thus their friendship messages fall kind of flat.

I've heard people praise that show outside of SA, but the thread on these forums convinced me it was a hot pile of garbage. I do recommend reading that thread, at least the op, but I can't fit the life of me understand why it gets any praise.

This manga might be the most perfect thing I've ever read. Start to finish with a clear goal and no dips in quality, somehow. There were times I thought it was going to unravel. I was surprised each time.

No, this is a good thing. This manga will end on a high note, and doesn't stretch itself thin. This is a goal more mangakas ought to inspire to, instead of making another Dragon ball, One Piece or Naruto.

All that's really missing is a black screen saying six months pass, I think the general idea got across. We don't need to kill cats here and I don't think it's fair to assume this means they won't have the chops to pull off the scene of Mob burning his parents or anything else. They played the horror straight with the Shiratori twins and this was simply not the time for gratuitous animal abuse to be in a show.
