Does anyone remember how Subway's gimmick used to be that they baked their own bread in the store? I mean that kind of made sense, people like fresh bread even though their bread isn't very good...

So there used to be this low rent sub franchise place across the street from my house and their gimmick is they sliced the meat when you ordered the sandwich, at the very front of the sub line was a meat slicer and they would take the block of meat out a slice the meat right in front of you...

I never understood that does anyone care when the meat was sliced?

So that you know it hasn't been sitting out forever, with all that surface area exposed and waiting to be colonized by bacteria?

I'm seriously considering buying one of these it's just so expensive if they start selling these for like $300 I'm buying a bread Keurig.

Oh my god. I thought this was going to be some kind of fancy-looking overpriced normal breadmaker, but this is amazing and now I wish I could own one. I would eat rotis all day every day.

I didn't know Subway even had egg salad. That seems inherently untrustworthy.

Keurig is going to add DRM technology to their new machines so that people can't use generic K-cups, it's complete bullshit. But I'm sure it'll get hacked pretty quick. It isn't a problem with any of the machines available now.

"Tiny Trains"

Subway is really expensive in Canada, almost double what the same subs would cost in the US. It's insane. I used to go there when I was a teen sometimes and only when they had some ridiculous good deal. Now it's like $10 after tax to get a loving fast food sandwich, I could get real food for that price.

I don't understand why fast food exists here. I get it in the US, it's cheap as gently caress, holy poo poo is it cheap. But in Canada the actual good local restaurant is about the same price and like actual edible food fit for humans.

I have this, uses k-cups which I hardly ever use (my fiancee likes their chai), but I just get a 2 lb bag of whole bean, and have a cup every morning. I like this a ton.
