I think the more screen real estate and stream time people direct to shilling for donations, the more annoying it gets. If they have a (not obnoxiously huge) donation link on their profile to support them getting better equipment/more games/card packs or whatever, I could care less. The subscriber feature is a great way to monetize a stream, but like a lot of other neat Twitch features (Stream Teams, transcoding) it's off-limits to everyone without a big following on Twitch or a large gaming YouTube channel.

Heard that the YouTube exporter desyncs stuff recorded on OBS, so I'm currently trying to save all my soon-to-be-purged VODs locally which is a huge pain in the butt. Anyone have some tips on how to make it go a bit more smoothly? I'm using nightdev to download them, FormatFactory to convert the FLVs to mp4 (which is happening at a glacial pace) and at the end I'm going to try and patch them together in premiere (and do some minor cuts/editing) e: also to add insult to injury, one of the 30-minute chunks from an old past broadcast is missing. Twitch says they extended their storage of past broadcasts to 14 days since they got rid of "Save Forever," but I'm seeing stuff get deletion-flagged much sooner than that. It looks like three of my broadcasts in the 6-7 day old range have already been purged (before I got around to exporting them, no less).

Highlight or download stuff you want to keep, and set your streaming software to just keep local backups in the first place. Yeah, my reasoning was "they removed Save Forever, so surely they would have extended their storage to compensate," and the wording of the Twitch announcement was vague enough for me to not rule that out. Really it's not even that big of a deal, the only video I lost that I care about is about 2.5 hours in length, but I'm annoyed at myself that I could have prevented this by doing any one of those things.
