Those guys are all assholes except for the one inexplicably wearing a hat despite being known for killing the hat. And he was probably a bit of an rear end in a top hat too, really. So basically gently caress hats.

This, right here. It's not the fedora, it's that you need to be wearing some sort of suit/fancy clothes with it in order to make it work. Also it helps that the fedora was a legitimate fashion choice up to about the 1950s, so an older person wearing one likely remembers it from that time period, rather than the modern connotation: wearing a fedora by itself = an internet neckbeard/libertarian/MRA.

Finally, there's Freddy Krueger, who can get away with wearing a fedora because who the gently caress is gonna be dumb enough to call him out on it? (Really, Freddy's more known for his burned face and metal claw, the fedora and sweater just complete his "look".)

The 5th Circuit just recently struck down MS's TRAP law which would've closed the last clinic in that state, so hopefully they'll uphold this Texas ruling using similar reasoning.

Socialists know what local organizing is, it's kinda hard to get beyond local when you have no funding and your name is synonymous with Hitler for many people.

Of all the things you can criticize socialists on, I dunno if "not being involved in local organizing" is one.

At least it's better than Bachmann's occasional demands to be called and/or self-referencing as Doctor because she had a JD.

e: If Dr. Dre went into politics do you think there'd be a big cry to not call him by the name he's universally known as because he's not really a doctor?
