triplexpac posted:I really like how in 2K15 you can download a CAW of, say, Seth Rollin's new attire, and then assign that to the actual character as an alternate attire. Couldn't you always do this, or at least in 2K14 as well? I think as long as the attire was created in Superstar Heads you can always use it as an alt attire, whether you downloaded it or made it yourself.

Astro7x posted:I can't get over how awful WWE 2K15 is. I don't know what I expected, but everything just feels like a clunky PS2 game and not next gen at all. And the game is still a loving disaster where you need to have a guide to know how to do half the stuff in the game. I feel like nothing cool ever happens organically. I was trying to figure out how to do the Shield triple power bomb, and the game is so loving stupid that the animation takes so long that the ref DQs you for having your partners in the ring for more than a 5 count. WTF. This is the first WWE game available for the system I have that I'm entirely skipping since Know Your Role. I was fully prepared to buy a PS4 for this game, but when they gutted the creation suite that killed any interest I had for it.

I realize it's nearly two games ago in the series for a last-gen system but I figured out why my Create/Edit an Entrance was freezing in WWE2K14 every single time - it was because there was too much music stored on my PS3 apparently. Prior games never had an issue with it but I guess 2K14 does. Now I have no reason to buy another WWE2Kx game or a new system until they put back in the creation stuff from 2K14. There's still lots of community creations being made for 14 as well - I managed to snag an updated Kevin Owens and a bunch of Lucha Underground guys last night.

Yeah, when they gutted the creation stuff my interest in the game dropped to about zero. The gameplay in 2K14 is decent and I can create whatever I want roster-wise or even show-wise with the arena creation feature. I have a pretty good Lucha Underground promotion going in Universe now.

They are useful in the cases where they give the game a negative (or at least a not-glowing) review, which is when you know it's REALLY bad. 2K15 I think had the lowest IGN score yet, which hilariously was like a 7/10.

There are no other feds to carry a western AAA game release that could compete and innovate, and since the rights to WWE games have been sold off once before with the death of THQ it's pretty apparent that they'll will never receive more funding than they do now. I wanted to like that game but I haven't heard one person recommend its purchase. It was sub-mDickie quality if I remember right.

As mentioned, the game they were most hands-on with was the worst-reviewed and the most stripped-down in the series yet. I can't speak to the mechanics but it looks like it's a large step backwards in every other way, especially playing 2K14 now and seeing how robust it is. I mean, all the stuff you say they took out half the creation suite to put in, mechanics-wise, has been in earlier non-2K iterations of the game. It's fine to say you're optimistic about it but I just can't see where the faith in 2K is coming from based on the two games we've seen them put out so far.

Lady Naga posted:I think the number one thing they need to do is find an identity for the game, because right now they're trying to be everything while succeeding at nothing. I realize you need to tack on some sort of story-driven single player mode to sell to audiences these days but if the game was just exhibition + online + maybe universe they'd be able to focus on things that are actually important, and maybe we'd get a balanced and fun experience out of it (lol). People who like this series of games get buckwild when you take out one attire, and you want to drop half the game? The toothpaste is out of the tube, if they take something out now they have to replace it with something else or the game will be seen as a step backwards. Even if you're not having a balanced and fun experience, the creation suites have spawned the only halfway interesting thing about this game.

I know in Canada it's coming down to $429 and there's already bundles with Destiny: Taken King for that price, so if you sell Destiny to get 2K16 it's not terribly expensive.

I agree that it's gross but it's such standard practice now that I can't complain about it with this game. At least there's a huge amount of stuff to get (and time saved) for two bucks here, where for other games it's a whole lot less content.
