A lot of times I avoid online play in games because it's not fun for me to either get whooped by some 12 year old or have my opponent rage-quit the second I start winning. But online in this has been really fun. Had a great, competitive match as Darby vs Jungle Boy that ended with us both brawling outside, barely beating the 10 count, and then me hitting a desperation top rope move and pinning him.

Yeah the online, at least so far, seems a lot less toxic than I'm used to. Nearly every online match has ended with everyone just hanging out and spamming taunts. I played a match with four identical pentas (confusing) and we all cero miedoed after.

Turns out this game is extremely cool when you're not worried about if/when it's going to randomly crash!

Is Early Start the thing that lets heels (top of my head MJF and Scorpio) rush me before my controls activate in the Ready? Fight! thing? I've basically only played as Hangman lol

Yeah and you can combine it with that 'first hit buff' so you can really gently caress em up.

I had a career match as a CAW against Jungle Boy. I beat the ever loving poo poo out of him and I think he did like 2 or 3 total moves to me the whole time. Then I hit my finisher, pinned him, then he did a small package reversal for a 3 count

lmao

That happened to my CAW against Bryan, I hit 3 sigs and 4 finishers in a row and he was bleeding like crazy from a barbed wire broom shot and then he just got this lovely rollup and I was like, ok, fair.

Seems like mods, maybe even extensive ones, might be very possible on the PC versions.

I live for video game creation suites and even I had the patience for one male and one female CAW and then gave up. It's boring and so limited that it's pointless to even try and make something interesting.

The move set and entrance creators are both very good, no notes, except I wouldn't mind if the entrances were longer. I just wish the actual appearance creation was better.

It is incredibly bizarre to me that fighting game fanatic Kenny Omega allowed a game with his name on it to ship without an Arcade Mode.

Stadium Stampede is glitchy as poo poo and not very fun. If I start anywhere but the field it spawns me as an all-grey putty figure who can't run or attack or do anything but jump.

are you seeing things like 40/30 players in the pre-load lobby when this happens or is it actually numerically correct? Just asking since nL encountered that on stream but it happened when there were like 42 players out of 30 lobbied up

Yes! I had no idea if it was meant to be that way or not but every game I played ranged from 37-42/30. I don't know if there were actually that many though.

If it's true that the putties are when there's over 30 people in the game, maybe you're not seeing that on Steam because there's never more than 30 people playing at once

The game should have stayed in development and released around November. At the very earliest. I have no idea why AEW pressured them to release it when they did. It's not like it was released during prime video game purchasing time

Even holding it until around now and piggybacking on All In/Out would've made a lot of sense.

Being able to play as Willow or Buddy isn't going to do much for me without something to do with them besides endless exhibition matches.

Looks like they're adding a cage match too. If they can add game modes that way I'm optimistic they can add something resembling a Season Mode down the line.

There’s just not enough game to wrestle in.

100%. Locking the most basic loving arcade mode behind DLC is legitimately insane. Not only should that be free, money should come out of the disc slot on my PlayStation for giving this another chance.

flashy_mcflash
Feb 7, 2011

It would make a whole lot of sense if they'd planned for every character to have a completely unique story mode. That would excuse our at least explain the lack of exhibition modes and other options and would be something no one else has done or is doing.
