A note that apparently X11 logs IPs from accounts and might get uppity about dummy accounts, apparently some guy ran a dummy account scam in the league's past life and ended up banned.

It might be better to just leave a certain number of inactive teams in and pruning down without kicking their managers like NoArmedMan used to do.

Yeah, create the teams from a dummy account to get the numbers correct but then immediately deactivate them. Might be worth promoting the league more aggressively mid-season if we have a sizeable set of 'reserve' teams for people to take over, too.

People never notice anything.
In cased anyone missed it, the new season starts tomorrow, so be sure to set your tactics. It looks like we're at 9 per division across the board, too, so no more long off-season for an unlucky few. Good luck all!

That was a good idea. I should do that next season.

Nope, i got you in. Sorry it was after the first game.

I personally train right after a game if my team needs it. That ensures that they'll be ready for the game after the next.

He got the red card for brutal play.
On the standings screen there is a little monitor symbols on the right side of the results of the rounds results.
If you press that you can "watch" the game.

Wow, I won outright my first game against another manager who had not abandoned his team for several months. Feels good man. I bought some match reports so I could guess his formation correctly and pick the right player to tightly mark, and getting those both right let me crush them in spite of inferior teamwork and overall skill values.

Just bought a 20/9 forward for about 11 mil. I feel both good and bad about this.
A backup goalie might have been smarter, but he was so tempting.
Tell me how I should feel and what I actually should have done with my dear Unicorn Power.
Counting down to getting soaped and the player not getting a skill increase at the end of the season. :suspense:

Not sure why anyone would waste money on a backup GK. If they get injured, buy one off the transfer market for a game or two for not much money.

My first season in Serious Business is shaping up to be a 'desperately trying to avoid relegation' season already.

Still, I'm pretty pleased with it - this time there are actual consequences for botching a season instead of just 'welp, I can look forward to the CR I guess' like so many other seasons have been for me.

The plan with a backup goalie was for him to be 16/4, 17/5 or something along that age/skill-curve, and to give him enough playtime to skill up come end of the season.
So there was a development aspect. Not to just to have him as a backup.
Then again I had a similar plan last season too. I ended up wasting a million on a 17/4 I couldn't give enough games as I fought relegation.
At least I can't get relegated any further now. :toot:

How bad a trait is fragile on midfielders? I've got a couple of fragile defenders who don't seem to have suffered too badly from it, but I don't know if that's just RNG being nice to me.

Fragile is the worst trait and you should be ready to replace them.

It isn't that bad. Personally I never care if anybody has fragile or not, its never made a difference to my players except to make them cheaper!

Yeah, that's the other reason it's annoying. If he didn't have fragile I'd potentially make some money on the transfer market, but then if he didn't have fragile I'd keep him. Think I'm going to keep him anyway.

The risk is double that of a normal player when it comes to getting injured.
A quick look at at few of my teams in different leagues say a player with the injury trait get injured about every 9-13 games they play.
If you have a broad squad I feel it's no problem at all, but if you don't it might be risky.
Buying players I'd normally stay clear, but it does bring down the price.
Don't build your team around him and you should be fine imho.

Fragile is actually tactically useful.

Fragile increases the risk and length of injury for that specific player. It doesn't increase the chances overall for the team to suffer more injuries. Essentially, they are an injury magnet that protects your quality players.

So here comes the fall from grace, picked up early points against the smaller sides but now rightfully getting smashed by the better teams. Another DV season for me!

Oh and I lost my keeper in the 38th minute and a midfielder only conceded twice, could've been a lot worse!

Annoyingly, I've got it on a player who in any other circumstances would probably become the best quality player I had.

Eh I wouldn't say that, you've got a far better team than mine on paper. I'm not crazy about your playing a 5-3-2, it seems to leave you vulnerable to upsets. I think a strong midfield with pressure on is the way to go.

Either way, I'm not sure it really matters this season. Barring a big upset, Crimemakers is going to be very hard to contest for the title.

Downward spiral begins
After a relatively safe start to the season, KCER MFC last week came up against the old familiar face of Uwe Mehle and his Norfolk-n-Chance side. Mehle, who was reported to be unhappy during the close season over Norfolk's refusal to allow him to leave, put on a brace face against his future employer and managed to get himself a couple of assists, as usual, as KCER slumped to a first defeat of the season.

That trend is expected to continue today as they face the league's hottest property in The Crimemakers who are yet to taste the bitter pill of defeat in the current season. With that in mind it is thought that a couple of youngsters will see some playing time, especially with the drop in form of Harrod up front, 17 year old Rubim Fatia is in line for a start against the team expected by many to top the division at the end of the current term.

NIC FC squeak out win over rivals
Earlier this week Norfolk-in-Chance FC managed to squeak out a win against long term rivals, KCER FC. Early chances created by Uwe Mehle, reportedly incensed by repeated lowball offers by KCER head coach Sashep, had a score to settle and caught the KCER defenders napping twice early in the match.

This match sets the scene for a tense upcoming round in Retu Nagele A, with KCER coming up against current leaders The Crimemakers. A result for KCER in this round will intensify the competition in the league, with 3 teams tied on points for leadership.

The word on the grapevine is that in an effort to strengthen his side, KCER FC manager Sashep has upped his bid for Norfolk-in-Chance midfielder Uwe Mehle to a box of stale doughnuts and an engine block for a 1982 Toyota Corolla.

Only time will tell how this drama in Retu Nagele A unfolds.
