I love the Empire because they get kickass ships, and poo poo like Peter Cushing and James Earl Jones. And the TIE/D Defender is boss as hell. I want to get a pair of Defenders and Darth Vader to relive that time I hunted down that traitor Zaarin in TIE FIGHTER. loving good times, man.

Edit: I dont play the game, so I don't know point costs or whatnot, but Stele in a TIE/D with Ion Cannons, some laser cannons, launchers, and tractor beams, overkill? So, bought my first of three Defenders, and as soon as I start to put it together, the goddamn stand snaps off inside the TIE. I suppose it kinda helps, since I'll be repainting it in white, but how do I fix it, besides drilling and replacing with a brass rod?

A few hopefully final questions before I can begin actually playing. I have no need for the starter sets, besides the rules, dice, and templates. Any goon recommend sources for the necessary bits? Shamelessly stolen, and still learning all the interactions, this looks fun. Don't have point costs, but it looks like a decent triple trips list, for whatever that's worth. Vessery (TIE/D, Ruthless, Tractor Beam) Delta (TIE/D, Ion Cannon) Delta (TIEx7) Finally, what's the best way to paint these things? Will a standard gesso primer work as well as it does on my 40k minis?

I figure it would be subtle enough to add some added patterns without going TNG Aztec or Rebel capital ship. Thoughts?

Well, first time I had my Defender and a pair of lovely TIEs, he had Poe and Luke. the TIEs did nothing, the Defender did everything. I lost. Second game, Poe and Luke vs my Mauler, Night Beast, Dark Curse and Zeta Ace. Like, 10 turns in, nobody is dead, Poe and Luke are shieldless, and half my ties are damaged. I'm K Turning every chance I get, line up some loving rad shots, and nothing. We gave up, gonna try again.
