Well, the factions should actually form a scale of Uniform to Individual, with Imperial on the former end, Scum on the latter and Rebels in the middle.

How are they going to do that, though? They'd need to print some more Advanced-specific stuff and the only way we'd get that is if they re-release the x1 (or give us the Avenger as an alternate Advanced sculpt) or release cards on their own.

I really hope we get the Avenger, actually. :allears:

Just as I'm expecting non-Scum specific Y-wing and HWK cards to help the rebel versions, I'm expecting something in the vein of a Battle of Yavin box. Obviously it'd have the Advanced but I'm not sure what else.

Always remember order of operations when rolling attack and defense.

Attacker Rolls
Attacker Modifies (spends Focus, uses re-rolls, whatever)
Defender Rolls
Defender Modifies

Makes things a hair more of a gamble for the attacker. Spend the focus now? Save it for a defensive roll? whatever. My first couple games we were rolling at the same time and it made it a bit too easy for the attacker to rack up damage.

This is incomplete. Sometimes the defender modifies the attacker's roll or vice versa. When this happens, it is always the person who did not roll the dice who has to modify first.

Another thing I often see people getting mixed up about is flying through and overlapping stuff.

Flying through another ship: No Effect
Overlapping another ship: Forfeit Action, K-Turns fail, become equivalent straight maneuver
Flying through obstacle: Forfeit Action, roll one red die and suffer result, including possible critical
Overlapping an obstacle: Forfeit Action, roll one red die and suffer result, including possible critical, cannot attack this round

Overlapping an obstacle also doesn't make you immune to that obstacle on the next round. If you fly through or land on the same asteroid next turn, you suffer the effects again.

You barely ever get to measure, and most actions that allow you to measure force you to commit to that action if you can legally finish it, such a Target Lock or Boost.

I'm still disappointed that Paul lost his match. We were cheering him on and hoped he would take another win home to nova squadron.

I'm more disappointed that even Paul brought a falcon. The one thing that annoys me about the Phantom is that as a rebel player I have a really hard time justifying not bringing a falcon.

Here is what I was planning to try once I get my hands on a YT-2400.

Help a newbie out, as for actual models the lists are thus:

Rick Sidebotham- TIE Phantom, TIE Interceptor, Lambda Shuttle
Jeff Beerling- YT-1300, YT-1300
Paul Heaver- YT-1300, X-Wing, Z95 Headhunter
Nick Jones- TIE Fighter (multiplied by 7)

Plus a butt-load of upgrade cards depending on the list.

Correct?

Yes, though if you recreate Heaver's list sans C-3PO you'll only need a YT-1300, a Headhunter and the core set to cover all models and upgrade cards.

I wonder which ones I'll need dupes of.

Well the IG-2000 is the one with a gimmick revolving around running dupes, you won't be able to use the title card in the expansion until you have at least 2.

Today, I took:

Leebo + Determination, Chewbacca

Keyan Farlander + Advanced Sensors, Push the Limit

Jake Farrell + Push the Limit

Farlander got blown up pretty quickly, which sucked because I didn't have time to really test him out. Also, if you have no Focus icons, can you still spend his stress token?

Jake Farrell was pretty awesome though. I was able to stay at range 1 of my opponents Dash + HLC and Outlander, and just dump damage onto it. Unfortunately, I critted off the HLC early enough to end up letting Dash do enough damage to make Jake easy pickins for the two A-Wings my opponent also brought.

I'm sad that my Leebo combo never got to trigger.

That's a pretty funky combo and I might have to copy it at some point for shits. Regarding Farlander, the Rule of Garven says you don't need focus results or even roll attack dice at all to spend focus tokens. By the same logic, the only limitation of Farlander's ability is the base trigger, "When attacking".

Am I missing something, because I thought HLC's can't crit unless Kath Scarlet or whatever changes the dice.

The conversion of crits to hits on the HLC only occurs once after the original rolling of the dice. From then on, any and all effects that can result in a crit such as Target Lock or Mercenary Copilot work as normal.

edit: Or, for example, Predator, as seen in his list.

Han with Gunner is the classic Marksmanship setup. It's still a steep price at 3 points, but in the gunner scenario it's better than PtL which makes you take a stress, same price as Recon Specialist and let's not even get started with Expose.

Funnily enough A-wings have a 2-man variant as well. I'm personally not that big of a fan of Ys but if they did have a turret refit card that was big enough, like at least 3 points, preferably 4, the Y could be to Torpedos what the Headhunter is to missiles.

HSF was a thing way before Phantoms, back when VI was a novelty you might throw on Turr so that all your ships were PS9 but pretty much a waste of an EPT slot.

One of the biggest disappointments me and my friend had when we began playing was that Han DIDN'T shoot first, Soontir did.
