Nah. You could still line up the template with the back of the base as long as you place at the end of the base too. Just can’t change relative distance.

 I’m looking forward to the utter chaos at the FFG booth at GenCon. I don’t think I want to stand in that line, but I’m hoping for some decent free stuff.
