I'm tempted to introduce this game to my housemates/friends by saying "So! Who wants to play Rebellion types and who wants to play freebooters?" I like that both types of characters are available but have different motivations - that seems like a great gateway for tension and storytelling. It may involve me springing for both beginner's kits, at first, but I think it's a worthy long-term investment.
