Goddamn that was a lot of fun. Took a couple of laps to get into the swing of things, but once I did I had a blast.

Same, my first lap consisted almost entirely of smashing into the walls, but by lap three I managed to beat the intermediate ghost car so badly I didn't get to see it. Eagerly looking forward to the eventual release.

Agreed. Not sure how I feel about the 'snap back' of the car when you come out of a drift, but it feels really good. I can't wait to play more and with others. Its a beautiful looking game though. And "photomode" is awesome. Press F9 to take screenshots in photomode.

I just find the colours a bit clashy and garish, although that one gif with a more normal coloured sky was a bit easier on the eyes. And the car 'sprites' are well done, too.

Great.

I'm pretty happy this game exists and that people like it, but I don't think I could play it without a blistering headache.

Maybe there will be more of a pastel patrick nagel mode in the future?

Is this better?
Triple screen and FFB support included? 30% serious question.

Edit: \/\/\/ I was going to ask that, but I don't have, nor plan to have, a Rift any time soon. I bought into three screens and TrackIR, and I'm sticking to my guns! :bahgawd:

I got this title for free due to my proximity to an idiot who wanted to save $5 on an avatar by having someone else spend $9.95 instead.
I generally don't go for racing games where I'm not throwing turtle shells or being Sonic or whatever but this game looks interesting and those graphics are gorgeous. Whoever said they're reminiscent of Mega Man Legends' graphics is right on.

Also makes me want to play some MML...

Asian Massage Parlor Camgirl

Worksafe. I don't know if I'd want to be seen watching this though.
Ironically, I was busy while watching the drift stage video (which looks cool!) and so I clicked this and then decided not to kill it immediately. In the background, i would catch a snippet of what she was saying and find the tone oddly relaxing, then look up and get creeped the gently caress out.

These 3D models, in fact.

So what exactly is the Expert time? I got 1:19.989 and that wasn't enough. My car was clearly in front when I crossed the finish line, too.

I'm using a 360 controller. I think my time is less than a second off of the expert ghost but I still can't beat the bastard. The only real advice I would have is to always start the lap at max speed and try to snap out of your drifts as early as you can.

Yep. On that last corner, make sure you ace it as close to the wall as possible. So your entry speed is quick. Master that, then your setup for the rest of the run and you can master the rest. But that is the bit to get right first.

Great Joe
Aug 13, 2008

That corner isn't as big a timesink the one at around the 40 second mark (expert car hits it around then anyway). Expert car does it perfectly and it's one of two where you pretty much HAVE to lay off the throttle or you WILL crash into the outer wall.

Oh no I don't mean about losing time there, I use it to make sure I'm at full speed by the start line. Getting it spot on is important for a good run.

Yeah you're right those. Those two cam be rough if you take them wrong. I lucked out one lap and did the whole track without lifting, but hosed it up on the last bend which ate my time, but I can't do it again, which is bugging me. But it can be done.

Also experts line isn't optimal at all, try not to follow it. Race your own time rather then racing the ghost, it'll teach you bad habbits in the long run if you start following him and using his drift points.

*edit*
And try to drift as little as possible. Start drifting late and finish earlier. You want to not be drifting just before you finish the corner amd just normal steering out of the bend so you're gaining speed as quickly as you can.

Oh, the Expert ghost does most corners pretty badly but for some reason it kept doing that one corner a LOT quicker than I could ever manage, well at least until I beat it that is. I kinda wish there was a way to disable ghosts as well as the skidmarks. I find myself instinctually drifting as soon as I'm on some.

If you go into the game folder there is another folder called replays. You can remove (make sure to backup!) The replays from that folder and you shouldn't see the ai ghosts anymore. You can leave your personalbest file in there and just race yourself.
