All the other localization is fairly accurate, and Mont Blanc isn't a Japanese name or anything - it's a drat mountain in the Alps, used as his name because he's a mountain guide. My guess is since his abilities match some of Brando and some are completely new (the core thing is something i find a lot of in Konami shooters for example), they came up with a new but similar name.
