I once read somewhere that there was a plan to give Dream Drop Distance a HD remake. I thought it strange to make a remake so soon after it came out, but I thought of a way it could work. Maybe they can make it part of one more HD collection with remakes of the DS games. I would hope that the gameplay is improved as part of the package.

I don't know how valid this is, but for the sake of argument, I'm guessing that 2.9 is the basic version of KH III. In the past you had the original version and then the Final Mix version; this is to make sure that when you get KH III, it is definitely KH III with all the bells and whistles. Either that or KH DDD HD.
