 Well according to Discovery, Grandpa John didn't start gold mining until he was 68, and they've said on the show before that he saw his mine as more of a hobby. And with him saying parker's 1000 ounce haul last season was more gold than he's probably ever pulled out of the ground, grandpa doesn't look like the expert miner Discovery painted him as for the last few seasons. That makes me a little sad.
