My roommate has sunk $500+ into the Kingdom Death kickstarter  They have made a few really sweet models hidden under the mountain of gross poo poo though. But I'd never give them money.

I haven't seen much of the game but from what I've seen it seems to be relatively more restrained than all the hosed up rape monster/titty girl poo poo he was pumping out before he did the kickstarter.

They're a lot nicer to use and they'll last forever if you take good care of them. Same with wet palettes. They're super, super handy quality of life improving deals. You can get S7s for $5-10 on sale pretty often and as long as you clean them they're gonna last a long time, unlike cheapo brushes which are gonna wear out quickly no matter what. A good tool isn't ever gonna make you better at something but a bad one can definitely hold you back or make things harder for you. Unless they're unsure if they're gonna stick with painting then there's really no good reason not to make the small investment in a good brush or two.

Eh, nobody in the painting thread is gonna jump on you for not being a good painter or for asking beginner questions. At the very worst you'll have people tell you what you can do to improve. I must've asked a hundred questions when I was starting out and everyone in that thread was super helpful. I donno what internet maleification is but at least two of the best painters on SA are women IIRC.

Honestly even the worst of those is far better than 90% of the female IG sculpts out there. The "heroic" scale is exaggerated and goofy in the first place and for the most part they'd all fit in pretty well with their male counterparts, Mordian hooker boots aside.
