Wow that wetnurse model is horrible. How could you sculpt something like that along with the victims and then think "yeah, this is exactly what I want." Also, I am not sure if it was just the small screen on my phone but when I first saw it I thought that it was a giant lumpy cock covered in tits.

Eh, animals having anatomical correct junk, male junk at least that is, isn't really that creepy or weird. At least, unless they had full on erections or something. I know that Breyer Horses have all of their correct parts since my fiance collected them. Also, the Forgeworld Greater Knarloc is technically anatomically correct in that you have to paint its cloaca which they modeled for reasons. ...and now I probably sound like a weirdo who likes animal junk.

But if I had to choose the scrotes are much less distressing than the whole murder-porn vibe they got going on. No, I agree, from a horror perspective, it is a cool concept, just horrifyingly executed for all the wrong reasons. And that isn't how bones work. I mean, with a bit of greenstuff and some cutting, the model can be made to look really hosed up(in a good, horror movie way) and awesome, as opposed to a you need help, you sick, sick gently caress way.

Ugh, that land raider is horrible. I know it is just an illusion and that they drybrushed a lighter blue on top of the darker blue to break it up, but you shouldn't do that that dramatically when you paint the other half white. All it looks like is that they need another coat of blue over the white primer. Also, I love this guy in the comments section. quote:If you are really going to bring up the 12 year old thing, do you even know what you're talking about? He wanted to give his kids a chance to paint some figures and be on the payroll. Shame on dad, right? Yes, because when you think of sending your miniatures off to be painted by a professional service, you will be happy when you get back something painted by the 12 year old kids of the owner.

I have to say that I am surprised that I have yet to see some closeted Nazi try and adapt the 21st SS Panzer Division logo for his 40k Nazi division. "Oh that? That is just an innocent Aquila." Edit: The Crotch posted:That's a bit of a myth. While Poland trained with lances up to the start of the war and still fielded cavalry, they never tried to charge tanks with them. It makes for a neat mental image and a good Corb Lund song, but that's about it. Actually, it wasn't a myth, it actually happened once, and only once during the campaign, though it wasn't as much of a "there are some tanks over there, charge them" tactical decision as much as it was more of an accident combined with very poor intelligence/propaganda on the part of the Polish. (They attacked what was thought to be a light infantry brigade and ran into an armored column) Some Polish cavalry did survive somehow. Now I need to read that book about tank warfare in the early war again. jadebullet fucked around with this message at 13:37 on Nov 19, 2014 |

I read both of the CS Goto Deathwatch books years ago. They are pretty bad. That eldar is supposed to be a Shining Spear, I guess, and she is one of the main characters. There is implication that she ends up falling for the main Deathwatch Marine. And the best part. Dark Eldar sacrificing Craftworld Eldar to their god, Slaanesh. (Knowing nothing of DE due to it being an abandoned army at the time, I thought that DE were chaos worshipping Eldar for the longest time due to this.)

Rip off the rail gun and add an earthshaker cannon, give it more of a face, remove the flappy wing bits on the shoulders and replace them with Void missiles then add grots crawling all over it and it will be perfect.

Eh, with that one I don't see that much contrast. They both look like Greek mythological figures as opposed to a pinup. They sure did a horrible job painting it though, and the garter is a bit out of place.

Well, I retract my statement upon seeing the official painted one from that perspective. The perspective of the bare plastic one makes it look like she came across some tiny humans and is looking down at them. I just thought that was what they were going for, but yeah, that painted one shows me how wrong I was.

SRM posted:I forget that I follow Dakka on Facebook but I get these autogenerated posts that make it worth it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OWSIlmeHlzw Maybe later today I will grab some pictures of my old Tau kill team that I converted up. (This was back in 4th edition where the rules said something like "you can take any wargear from your codex" so I figured since Crisis Suits were technically infantry, my Firewarrior kill tram could have mini guns and missile launchers and poo poo, and I pretty much made a Tau GI Joe squad.)

I still like Chapter house, where they have guns or something that you can buy for your Space Marines, but the picture of them is a low resolution, artifact riddled potatograph, rather than an actual picture.

Hey, I finally got around to photographing my first attempt at a kill team conversion back in the day. The 4th edition rules stated that killteam members could take any weapons from the infantry wargear of the codex and I figured that battlesuits counted as infantry for the Tau so I just went from there. I even decided to name them the "Ethereal Guard." Aside from the "demolition's expert" covered in pulse grenades, and the "Tyranid war close combat expert" that has kroot blades glued all over, I kinda like these guys and have kept them around. Maybe one day I will give them a proper paint job. (and find the flamethrower trooper)
