I'm on SSDI for a disease with a clinical rather than a physical diagnosis: chronic migraine. I successfully fought to get my ex-employer's disability insurance to cover me, then they successfully dumped me based on a policy that they only covered "self-reported diseases" for 3 years. I live in fear that SSDI will dump me, too, on some other basis. I am 55 now, but I wasn't when I went on SSDI. I used my lawyers' briefs for the employer disability suit to get SSDI; the person who made the determination said it was the easiest case she'd ever decided. I still worry that somebody will come along later and say "Well, PROVE you're still sick."
