Next to Lange, Peters is the most typecast actor in the series. For both of them you could write a pretty detailed character description that could be applied to any of their four characters on the show.

For Peters it's just "Angst" over and over.

His "loving creepy let me be your boyfriend why don't you ghost-love me" angst from Murder House was fantastic, and he really grew on me in Asylum. It's a shame he didn't get a personality in Coven, and that Freak Show was just a long string of one-note nothings for everyone.

Yeah he literally did nothing in Coven. I'm not even sure why they killed him since his character would have been far more interesting if he was alive and then they spent like, one episode trying to revive him after killing him instead of the whole season.

Peters is a pretty good young actor that gets too much hate. He was good in Murder House but was great in Coven. I also think Coven was the much harder role to play. He blew last season but I think that's because his character was written into a one note corner.

Other than the lizard girl from last season, all of those (at least from the ones I'm familiar with) are pretty top-notch, too. Even Cheyenne Jackson, who I liked on 30 Rock even though his character was flat as a piece of paper.

Okay, you guys need to look at the source for that article: http://m.ibtimes.co.in/american-horror-story-hotel-full-cast-list-revealed-who-are-you-most-excited-see-poll-630237

It was apparently taken from a fan cast list on an IMDb message board. It's super, super fake.

Not that it wouldn't be hilarious to inexplicably see Michelle Pfeiffer portray country music star Martina McBride as the former owner of the hotel.

He did kill one character that he should have never, ever, ever been able to kill and that annoyed the utter hell out of me in Coven.

One of the best summaries of the entire show's long term memory: Open an episode showing character X can control character Y completely at the snap of the fingers, and could blow them into atoms if they wanted. At the end of the episode, character X is choked to death by character Y. Nothing changed between those scenes.

I was willing to handwave that away as "character Y caught character X completely off guard, before she could concentrate and summon her powers", but the ending they gave Misty Day, with her trapped in science class hell dissecting frogs for all eternity was absolute bullshit and some of the laziest writing I've ever seen in a show that's notoriously full of it.

Personally I found the ending they gave Nan, the only character seemingly starting to rebel against or even notice the ridiculous corruption in the witch hierarchy even more so.

La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo

I've been watching AHS from start to finish recently. I really liked the first season, the second was maybe better. The third was pretty dumb but my girlfriend liked it, the last season we were pretty drunk throughout and forgot most of it. Only by reading this thread have I realised we haven't actually seen the last episode, but from the looks of it I think I prefer the season finishing on Jimmy getting new hands than everybody dying or whichever. Not that I particularly cared about any of the characters, but I thought it quite a bold move to finish the season with so many dangling plot threads and therefore the possibility that anything could kinda happen with an acknowledgement by the characters that life goes on regardless of the poo poo.

I'll still watch the next season of course, but I preferred it when the show had a little more teeth than whatever the last two seasons were. Conceptually, a coven could have been good but didn't really go anywhere, deaths felt cheap as people could get resurrected and the more mystical elements of the show, which I found interesting, were barely touched upon. Again, the concept of a Freak Show on the road could have been a lot more interesting than having them kinda stay in the same area, play cards and talk about murdering someone. I'm sure it's been talked to death about the abrupt endings of the more horrifying/interesting antagonists throughout the whole run, and the general repetition of characters with different names played by the same actors, but those two points in particular bug me slightly.

I also got confused between Shawn Ryan and Ryan Murphy, so my expectations of the show were very different from a horror show by the creator of Glee rather than a horror show by the creator of The Shield.

Comic Con panel summary (Hotel plot spoilers tagged)

Murphy loved doing the comedy stuff in Freak Show, which helped inspire Scream Queens
Emma Roberts teased that she may not be done with AHS
Lots of the casting for Freak Show was unexpected; people sent in auditions when they heard about the general casting call and Murphy loved what he saw, he thought it was a privilege to work with them all and would love to do it again
Murphy hinted Lange might just be taking a year away from AHS (season 6 panic about how they'll write a better ending for her starts now)
Sept 22 is the 2 hour premiere for Hotel
No musical numbers in Hotel
Gaga wrote Murphy and asked to be in AHS (wanted to be evil too)
Kathy's running the hotel, and at least all of the people at the panel (Kathy, Sarah, Matt, Angela, Evan) play evil people (unfortunately seems like another case of everybody being the bad guy)
Evan's character is named Mr March; Sarah's Hypodermic Sally; Kathy's Iris; Matt's Donovan
Gaga's character is also evil and will be highly involved with fashion

Guy who played Twisty told jokes between takes to keep everyone from being terrified of him when not filming, even with the costume on
Characters from previous seasons will be in Hotel

These promos are always great. They've been consistently better than the last two seasons of actual show :smith:

I want them to do American Horror Story: Quarantine set in a city with a disease outbreak in either the 80s or the near future. And a sea/lake monster. Because why not. :krakken:

E: I also want Ryan Murphy as far away from creative control of the show as possible, for the record.

With Murphy at the helm you´ll get a sea monster, a couple of gay draculas, a barbershop quartet of ghosts, a serial killer/cannibal family and a space alien that used to be Hermann Göring.

Most of which are killed off within 2 episodes of their introduction, leading to tension within the quartet as more ghosts attempt to join. The ghosts all debate at length over whether the new ghosts can be trusted, with lots of group in-fighting that ultimately amounts to nothing as people argue and make up 4 times in as many episodes. All of the ghosts' powers are wildly inconsistent from scene to scene.

Guest starring Chris Colfer and Lea Michele as the new ghosts in town!

I somehow get the feeling Lange left AHS so Ryan Murphy would stop making her die of old age over and over. Seriously, dude, she's in excellent shape for her age, stop elaborately parading her to the afterlife.

Also we should all keep in mind that anything said at this point applies to the first four episodes tops. Murphy loves changing his mind almost as much as he loves crystal meth.

Yeah, I could definitely see her getting a little weary of the implication of all her backstories being: "Her best years behind her, the once-great <THEME APPROPRIATE ROLE> finds herself diminished and aging in a world trying to get rid of her" .

Uh I'm gay so it wasn't meant as such, the show just operates on meth-head logic. It's chaotic, it's forgetful, it has sudden bursts of self-important monologues followed by extreme sexual violence... This show acts like how tweakers act.

Me.. I want it to say "You know what, gently caress IT! RUN THIS poo poo INTO THE GROUND!" and make Season 3 look like a masterpiece, and then drop the mic as the worst loving down slide of all time.

Season 3 was fun to hate watch. Season 4 was just lackluster. It wasn't exactly incoherent like 3, it just didn't have anything really going on. 3 was pure, unfiltered random bullshit.

I kind of wish Asylum had a better ending and pay-off to Aliens versus Satan. The anti-climax on that was disappointing. But man what a drop.
