At least they're starting to work out a way to combat fatlords who happen to have no neck. We had a few khaki fail our last PFA, I think the key to success is to put a chief who is not popular with the mess and obsessively observes rules in charge.

Usually when a Navy ship collides it's due to really erratic and frenzied maneuvers in traffic (see: PORTER) but it's interesting to see merchants smashing into each other. Also, if they maneuvered to avoid grounding, they violated a very clearly stated canal rule (If chosing between collision and grounding, ground).
