Pokemon was pretty good back in the day but for the past few iterations I've felt like I've already put my time in and don't want to level a team of pokemon again just to do the same thing I've done before.

yeah they should do a materia system with tms that level up and just have the pokemon add synergies and special properties without gaining experience directly.

That way you can swap pokemon whenever you want and still use good moves.
