Haven't the Russian's been doing that passport thing for years now? I recall that being a part of their tactic in claiming Russians in Crimea were under "threat".

Polish news reports about one General Nazarkin, who was one of the commanders of the Ukrainian anti-separatist operation. Turns out Nazarkin has deep family ties in Russia, including a brother who is an officer in the Russian army. Nazarkin is now under investigation for ordering Ukrainian units straights into Russian ambushes based on intel from his brother. This puts the the current commander of the operation, the Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Army, Viktor Muzhenko, in even worse light, since he's reported to have ordered Nazarkin off the battlefield to wait things out once his ties to Russia became open knowledge.

Personally, I have no idea how Muzhenko is keeping his post, especially after suffering some of the most staggering losses in modern military history. The only thing that comes to mind is that whatever's left of the Ukrainian army is under threat of a mutiny of some sort, and Muzhenko is the last one keeping it together. Seeing how the army has been deeply tied to Russia, unable to mount any sort of operational capability, and rife with treason, Ukraine will have to start from scratch. I believe it's a matter of time before the whole thing is disbanded, one things settle - as much as that's possible, anyhow.
What was the rough tally of the Ukrainian forces lost after the Russian army invaded a few weeks back?

The Russian government really loves it's spiteful foreign policy statements.

Poroshenko mentioned over 800 soldiers in his parlimentary address today, but that would be mostly volountary batalions. The regular army hasn't been really heard from since Slovyansk, except the victory day parade in Kiev.
Holy loving poo poo that's terrible.
