Sorry for being so late to get keepers in, I couldn't find this thread when I looked and then I stopped looking. HHL Keepers for the Bettmann Conspiracies Top Cop Sergei Bobrovsky, 6 + 1.2 = 7? 8? Brandon Dubinsky, 15 + 3 = 18 Nazem Kadri, 2 + .4 = 3? Zdeno Chara, 44 + 8.8 = 53 Also I don't have my October schedule yet but would it be possible to push that back to 2100 if I work? I commute to DC and depending on if they give me the 0600 or 0700 shift I may or may not be around at 2030. Last year my wife started out for me and got The Wrong Sedin, even though she knows hockey better than I do.

Right now I have Bishop (16) , Simmonds (28), and Perron (13). My other choices are Hedman (13), Ladd (48), Tyler Johnson (2), Schwartz (2), or maybe even Perry (95). I am leaning towards Hedman, but I am not sure. I have more to think about. gently caress it, I will go with Hedman. My keepers: Bishop 13 -> 16 Simmonds 23 -> 28 Perron 11 -> 13 Hedman 11 -> 13 Yes, I am giving up Schwartz. But, I love Hedman too much.

There should be a rule for resetting the years on keepers, but also realistic cost associated. How about average cost +(insert reasonable % here) per player on keepers that were traded, and hit the 4 year keeper mark. I don't think anyone would have an issue paying 30ish dollars for Seguin?

Ehh maybe. I'd rather just keep it simple and say either 3 or 4 years per keeper from now on, with maybe a special exemption for Seguin this year and next year at $30-$40.

I vaguely remember the notion of keeper caps coming up last year, but it would definitely have happened after the trade. There's no way I trade away a freshly drafted $14 Mackinnon (plus Duchene) for one year of cheap Seguin? Especially post-draft, when his price is irrelevant until next season? (I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the trade happened after the draft but before the first week of the season.) I almost feel like this new keeper cap rule should apply going forward and not retroactively. zeroordie fucked around with this message at 18:19 on Sep 24, 2014 |

zeroordie posted:Why exactly is that? Only because I am 80% sure we put a 4 year cap on keepers last year until T-Bone went with 3 this year. I am not sure when the date this was discussed, or if anything became official. The Seguin for Duchene/MacKinnon deal went through on October 6th. Also, I have my own selfish reasons, because I want Tavares for one last year as a cheap keeper (he'd be $86 this year).

I'm pretty sure we didn't confirm anything (although we've been discussing it since like season 1), and I don't want to make any more changes after 13/14 returning teams just submitted keepers. The issue is Seguin - his gripe is legitimate in that he lost out on one year of Duchene and two years of MacKinnon in anticipation of a cheap Seguin. I don't think it's fair to get Seguin for another three seasons starting at $4, but one season at $4 or two seasons at $50->$60 and $60>$72 seems reasonable to me. So unless there are major objections from the rest of you guys I'm going to let zeroodie pick the option he prefers (1 year at his current price, or 2 years starting at $50). edit: and to confirm from here on out a player can only be keepered for three consecutive seasons regardless of who is managing the team. There are nerdier ways we could do this (escalating percentages, age based, slot based, etc) -- but I'm trying to simplify it this year. Again, unless a large majority of you guys want to make this even more nerdy and complicated which we can totally do but I want to have something concrete instead of "maybe we will do this next year" and this is a good evolution point with many of the keepers being reset. zeroordie posted:Where is this $50 price coming from? I'm just throwing it out there as a reasonable but still discounted price for a guy like Seguin. He would go for at least $80-$90 in the draft. It seems like a reasonable middle ground between what he would go for in the draft and what you have him for now after three seasons of $1 keeper. e: like I don't think there's a player in the league who wouldn't jump on keeping Seguin at that price T-Bone fucked around with this message at 21:17 on Sep 24, 2014 |

Ok guys, I'm looking for some help to build the ultimate cap team. 2gs are on the line, and if I win anyone that gives me legit help to tweak my team will get rewarded (probably a forum goodie of their choice, TBD). Keep in mind that in this league, the only thing that counts is points. For goalies, games won and shutouts give a huge bonus. This is what I have so far: Now, the team seems pretty stacked and I'm liking my chances. I usually go for a more well-rounded approach when it comes to salary, but this year I decided to have heavy-hitters at every position, and to even it out by having cheap players that will likely get top-line minutes for their teams (or rookies with hype). Here is where I'm struggling: 1) Centre: I'm pretty happy. MacKinnon is a risk, but worth taking. Only person I can switch him with is Kuznetsov 2) Right Wing: I went with Nyquist, but it's between him and Silfverberg. I think Nyquist will be getting good minutes, but for some reason Silfverberg keeps calling my name. I dunno where to go. Who do you think is likely to have more success this year? Tyler Toffoli is also an option 3) Left Wing: Drouin is injured, but it doesn't seem that bad. My only viable option to replace him with is Hertl. I'd do that in a second, except Hertl is injury prone too. I dunno what to do. The duo of Kreider and Pacioretty worry me a little. Max is an enigma, but no one around his salary has a ceiling as high as his. Kreider might get top minutes, but who knows how much he'll produce in a season... To switch Kreider out, I'd have to drop a high salaried player at another position (or keep Drouin and add Hertl to replace Kreider). 4) Defense: I went with Karlsson. Decent bang for buck and likely to be the highest producing defenseman. Everyone else is either a rooking or cheap young player. I can replace any of them with either of these: Jake Muzzin (is he likely to be on pp?), Radko Gudas (is he really offensive?), Olli Maata (new players on the team, likelihood of him being relied on for points?) 5) Goalie: I went with Price as my big hitter, but I can also afford Fleury and Quick, and maybe even Rask. I believe in Price, but you never know with the Habs. Boston regressed a little but realistically they'll be top dogs in the East. Fleury will probably have a good season and get a ton of wins. So, what do you guys think? If you have any other suggestions, let me know.
