Game is a whole lot less scary once you realize it's a videogame and they can't come through the screen to get you. Also that managing the power is only needed at the specific points and this is really a glorified point and click game.

I dunno...I consider jump scares to be one half the game, while the other half being strategic planning, a manipulative AI which takes advantage of your current patterns, and in turn that aims to create tension leading up to that scare. It kind of does its job well, if you ask me. Then again, I don't own the game, nor am I a big fan of the horror genre in general.

like i can't play through dead space, and it's probably the most boring, senseless horror game there is. intellectually i know this, but when i am playing and i hear the one note sting and know that something is behind my horrormans, i still feel scared.
