Fallout 3 only sucks by virtue of not being NV, which you can say about most games.
This is the truth.

I think it's cool that they did something totally different with the atmosphere of the game. They kinda went halfway there with LR, but being able to fast travel and leave at your leisure diluted it.
I believe that Lonesome Road was originally going to be more like Dead Money but people complained so they altered it- all those references to killer dust storms make me certain they were planned to be an environmental hazard at some point. They made the ability to leave at will a part of the story, which I appreciate. When Ulysses says "you could have turned away at any time" it's literally true.

The GRA weapons all come at 100% condition which by default inflates their cost. I get where they were going with it lore wise since they're newly manufactured but it really made them much more useless unless you abused the Sierra Madre or the luck system.
Unless you're trying to buy all the GRA weapons you can easily afford the non-uniques by playing the game totally normally. The uniques are mostly high-end weapons and you'll be able to afford at least one just fine when you're higher level. Even without getting banned from all the casinos you end up rich as gently caress in this game.

haha like any one ever actually bought/played any of the addons for fallout 3, the poorest mans fallout. Even moreso than tactics.
I played all the add-ons. They were mostly OK but Anchorage was garb.

Fallout 2 had some lovely stuff but it made up for it by having a lot of loving good stuff as well. I barely remember stuff like Brain the Mole Ray or the chess playing radscorpion, I remember being sheriff of Redding and buying people's debt with my own money to save them from getting foreclosed on or whatever.

While that's true, my point is that there's no alternate option to tell them to crawl up where the sun never shines, and just continue with the story an alternate route. From what I remember you have to convince them to go with you in the first place.
When the companions get to their spots and start making extra demands of you you can tell every single one of them to eat your poo poo and just leave them there.

Goofy random horseshit that dumbasses lap up.

A term which therefore cannot apply to Old world Blues, whose humour is not random but arises organically from the situation, story and themes of the DLC, and which is not goofy but ties in with much darker and more tragic character elements.

What's dark about OWB?
A ton of the areas are associated with horrific suffering and death, from Little Yangtze and the place where the cazadores slaughtered everyone, to places like the Innovative Toxins Plant and the weather control station which gain darkness from their association with other DLC areas, to the very existence of the trauma harnesses and lobotomites.

Being light on quests is cool because you can just explore the valley. There's not much to find though, and that's a shame.

Ah, ok, you mean all those optional areas you never have to visit are pretty dark. Gotcha. loving retard.
Yes, you only come into contact with the dark stuff if you actually bother to explore and engage with the game area, and pay attention to your surroundings. Only a mentally disabled person would do that sort of thing though.
