You were obviously not there for the iPhone 4 launch, or you live in the middle of nowhere. At Apple's flagship store in Atlanta, I got in line around 5:30am and didn't get mine until nearly 16 hours later.

Apple did feed us and I was there with friends, and it was a nice summer launch, but 6/22/10 never forget.

God I remember that day. Went early so I could pick it up before work (I had it reserved) and I had to give up and head to work at 8:45. Went during lunch and gave up again, and then finally waited for 3 hours after work. :negative:

However the iPhone 6 is bigger and has a different design so I don't know if it's going to look good or not...

I think it looks really nice. But I'm Arab. (Still ordered the space grey)

Has anyone gone caseless?

Caseless and AppleCare-less since the original iphone. Buying a new phone isn't going to put me on the streets at this point in my life and even if I need to replace it, I've saved more than the cost of a new phone over the years.*

*the 5s was the first generation I skipped and I had to buy a refurb from apple in July for like $250+ to replace it. It was a lock button defect that affected certain ATT phones. There was a recall for it but apparently my serial number not included on the recall. (Such bullshit, but 250 for effectively a new phone isn't too bad)

Yea there are occasional scuffs on my phone after a year of use but even a scuffed caseless phone looks nicer than a phone with the nicest case.

I always end up handing down my phone to someone for free so not really concerned with how it affects resale.

Now that I've said all that, I'm going to break my 6 in a week. Thanks rear end in a top hat.

I don't understand the outrage on the storage. I was getting the 64GB model before the announcement, and now I am getting the 128GB for the same price I would have paid. 64GB for free, whats the problem?

Yea being saddled with a 16GB iPhone sucks, but then don't buy it. Problem Solved. 100 bucks more gets you a real storage option as opposed to the 32GB half measure of previous years.
If 100 bucks is that much of a deal breaker then people need to reconsider whether or not they can afford a smartphone and 60-80 bucks a month for a plan.

We also just discovered that there's a random email associated with her account that she's never used. Any ideas on what she can do to get her data back?

Did she buy her phone used? Maybe it is reverting back to its first account holder.

Either that or she is living a double life and now she is playing dumb. I think it's time to water board.

MacRumors is aflutter with talk about their phones bending in their pocket. Some idiots are even calling other people idiots for putting their phones in their pockets. As someone who doesn't have their phone yet is this a real issue or just MacRumors being MacRumors? Anyone have their phones bend in their pocket? It seems to be more prevalent in the 6+.

I tried shutting all apps down. Turning off all notifications. Yet sometimes I'll just have it buzz and I can not work out what the hell it is.

Maybe you have repeat alerts turn on. I think it is on by default.

If he sat with it in his BACK pocket for 8 hours I'm with you, thats just dumb, But to have it bend while it is sitting on your lap is bad design. Its a phone for fucks sake. (again assuming the guys story is true)

thepokey posted:

How do you turn that off? Shouldn't that be turned off when notifications are turned off anyways?

Yea one would think if notifications are off then it wouldn't repeat. Either way you can set the repeat notification function to "never" in notificiations-->your specific app

I am thoroughly impressed with that lovely 2 dollar Chinese case posted a while ago. Two dollars, delivered in like a week and the build quality is impressive. (For the price)

I don't use cases but I could see myself using this one at like disneyland, put my annual pass and driver license in there and just use apple pay for everything. Leave the wallet at home.

Edit to avoid being a double posting douchebag: I'm looking for a small skinny sim card holder. I need it to hold a few nano SIM cards and an ejector tool/paper clip. Thinner the better. Ideally it could fit 3-4 nano sims and the holder and can fit in a credit card slot in a travel wallet.

This is the best I've seen: http://www.amazon.com/Perixx-PERIPRO-402-Mobile-Safe-Case/dp/B00HYFE18G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411832658&sr=8-1&keywords=Nano+sim+case but it's a little thicker than what I would like.

Anyone else's Touch ID randomly deciding not to work? I want to say it started with 8.0.2 but it could have always been there (I only had my phone a few days before 8.0.2).

Basically 80% of the time it works everytime. The other 20% well...not so much. (It just keeps saying try again until it sighs and says "you know what, just give me your password")

Is it the end of the world? No. But it is a big enough problem to where I don't want to look like a douchebag whipping out my phone to buy a 20 mcnugget (or whatever goony goon purchase i am making) and have it error out on me.

I don't think it is a problem with the sensor, because like I said above it works better than sex panther.

I have my main thumb saved twice, the reject thumb saved once and my two index fingers saved and they all have about the same success rate.

Can I put one of those magnetic rings on my wireless charging battery pack or charging pad to jerry rig it to work with MagSafe or will that disrupt the charging capabilies and potentially damage something/ burn my house down

I have an 11, and when I go to the 13 I’d rather keep my existing accessories and modify them than buy all new ones.
