If there is so much of it that it would satisfy our needs for hundreds or even thousands of years it might as well be infinite as far as political/economical decisions are concerned.

Which is a completely unrelated argument because the "finiteness" of nuclear fuel has no bearing at all on how dangerous or costly it is to process the waste.
