Whimsy? When Shelley Winters is involved? So business as usual, then.

But she hasn't been in this arc. This might be the origin story about how Shelley Winters became Shelley Winters.

Ryan is Ryan. I wonder if we're going to see Tim develop too.

In a similar way to Lottie's extreme love of mysteries, perhaps? They both suffered a loss at a young age and are probably the strangest among their respective circle of friends.

Extreme love of makin' noise, maybe. Mildew's odd upbringing makes her a contender, but what really makes Lottie stand out is her resilience and presence of mind to get people out of their dark places.

The BoyMan is going to need a lot of land sharks to bail him out of this one!

Eco-Force needs a team-up with Butcher, Baker and Candlestick Maker to fight obscure poaching crimes.

Remember Bad Machinery was specifically intended to be all-ages-friendly.

Then remember the time Natalie got murdered by elderly arsonists, or the time Ryan's comatose body was tipped into a dumpster by a shady doctor and salvaged by devil-nuns, or the time Erin got engaged to the devil and was literally dragged into hell and erased from living memory.

It's more a return to form than anything.
Or the time a discarded protagonist got burned alive.

Btw, Saucy Bob's the one that engaged her. The devil merely officiated their union, shortly before it was annulled.it did not turn out well for Crowley nor the devil.

As for the arsonists, I forgot about them until this very thread brought them up. They've had their comeuppance from their turf war with Amy, but those old bats got away with murder.

I hope she's featured in this story. The Case of the Fire Inside was my favorite Bad Machinery story, and that was mostly Mildred and Sonny.

Hmm, yeah. So I think there are actually five plot threads: Blossom the bully, Daz returning for the wedding, Linton's hormones, the new head of discipline, AND Claire's breakup. I predict we won't know how they all fit together until we find... the missing piece.
I figure the missing piece is a Shel Silverstein reference.

The UK has skinheads, certainly, and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that culture radically different from the supremacist bigots in the US?

The Case of the Fire Inside is far and away my favorite arc. I can't decide me favorite part, but one of them is Colm consoling Sonny about his dreams.
