It would be pretty hard to have a really strong opinion about Scottish independence, I think. I mean economically it didn't make a lot of sense so if you were worried about the economy that could form the basis of a strong opinion. Similarly if you held the belief that national groups should be sovereign I guess you could get really worked up about it. But in truth it was kind of a political novelty that didn't really mean a whole hell of a lot. If it had been yes, the oligarchs would have figured out how to handle it. My strongest political opinions tend to be about those aspects of US policy that cause suffering, destruction and an endless cycle of self-cannibalism that leads to the suicide of the middle class and the utter suppression of the lower. Before I knew enough, I was American libertarian in my approach but I still had the same concerns.
